Located 20 minutes away from downtown and 5 minute walk to the beach, this apartment offers the best of both recreational and urban worlds. It’s a short walk Kew Gardens Park where you can enjoy views of Lake Ontario, as well as immerse yourself in a hip lifestyle on Queen Street East. You will find everything you need: bakeries (including vegan), gourmet food stores, yoga and pilates studios, art galleries featuring local artists, public library, countless restaurants and bistros, laid-back coffee shops, groceries and supermarkets, as well as unique clothing stores and a cinema. The Beaches is a fun and laid-back community with international jazz festival in July and many celebrations throughout a year.
24h Queen street Streetcar stop is conveniently located a few steps away from the apartment. Main station Bus stop is 3 minutes away.
Very accommodating host. April got back to me right away and answered any questions I had. Apartment was clean and tidy and in a great location in a Victorian era apartment building. Situated directly across from a grocery store made for getting provisions simple. Perfect for a couple's accomodation. Only a block or so from the boardwalk park along the beach. Really quite good value for what you are getting. Thanks.
Anastasia and Bob's apartment in The Beaches neighborhood of Toronto is pretty much exactly as described. Its in a nice quiet location on Queen Street East, close to the beach and with many shops, restaurants, and bars in the near vicinity. The Queen Street streetcar is steps from the front door-step so you can get downtown, but beware the apartment is close to the end of the streetcar line and it takes closer to 45-60 minutes to get downtown depending on traffic and construction. Its a 24 hour line so late at night the trip is shorter, but during the day it can take a while to get to the downtown attractions if you dont have a car. This is a 3 story building and is pretty dated, so there isn't much soundproofing. Expect to hear footsteps above and neighbor conversations, sometimes late night. Overall a decent place to stay in Toronto!
The apartment from Anastasia is middle in the neighborhood from the famous Queen Street in Toronto. It looks like the picture it shows.
We enjoyed the beach not far to walk, the talks we the neighbors at the very good bakery not far from the aparment. A butcher and a grocery store is also next to it. The only thing is the terrible parking situation like in every big city. Nobody understandhow is exact to do. It's very easy to get a ticket. Best thing is to park at the Green Parking. That is walk about 10 minutes away from the apartment.
We would like to say thank you for the stay in Toronto.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. The location is great. Grocery store right across the street, FireBagel shop just down the street for a great breakfast and coffee. Beach just a short walk away. The apartment is a bit dark but I think that may be an asset if it were very hot outside. There are great shade trees on the bedroom/living room side as well as the end of the suite /kitchen area. A couple of concerns would be the missing tile and resulting hole in the wall right at the kitchen sink area. Nice towels in the bath but no facecloths. Crisp white sheets but one pillow case and bottom sheet each had a small brown stain. Over all very nice and clean.
We had a wonderful time and the apartment was as described. The location was ideal with the store across the street, parking nearby, transportation in front of the apartment, and the beach was less than five minutes from the apartment. The apartment itself was spotless and included all the utensils and basic appliances to be able to eat in. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and we thank them for everything!
Thank you for your feedback Steve. I am sorry that AC didn't work, I checked in with current tenants who rented the apartment for 3 weeks, and it's working for them.. I also changed the fire alarm battery right after you left. Overnight parking gets tricky on the street, and the best way to go is to buy street parking from the City online (it's very affordable, but you need to do it in advance).
For all your worries, I will give you a good discount if you decide to come our way again. Cheers, Anastasia
The apartment was perfect!! Located on the main street - Queen St - where all the shops and restaurants are at, and one block away from the beach. We could not have asked for a better location and place to stay. The unit was clean and well presented. Anastasia was so welcoming and caring. She was very accommodating and when I asked her for suggestions on restaurants (We are vegan) - she went out of her way to get us some fabulous recommendations on where to each and places to visit in Toronto. This was a last minute trip....and it was perfect!
