Situated on a working eco farm, certified GOLD by Eco Tourism Ireland, adhering to the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. We have a variety of accommodation options, gardens, animals, orchards & pastures. Located next to a beautiful wild woodland (SAC).
Situated beneath an oak tree and on the edge of ancient Irish woodlands, it is a peaceful stay 'in the woods'
It's a cozy cabin ideal for 2 people, sleeping up to 4.
Fully furnished with a double bed plus lounge space. 2 single futons can be added.
Great space for a couple to enjoy, a writer to work, a shaman to journey, an individual who wants peace and rest. Very private, no internet or electricity, perfect for a total getaway or retreat!
The ancient indigenous woodlands surrounding the cabin hold many wonders, certain types of rare conglomerate rocks, as well as deer, foxes, hedgehogs and many native species of tree, flower and herb.

Minimum stay for two nights.
• Gas heater, candles, solar powered light.
• Washing facilities & compost toilets.
• Solar powered showers a short stroll away at the Longhouse.
• BBQ & wood fired pizza oven available for rent.
• An open fireplace for campfires is located in the communal space "the Hogan" round house, a short stroll away.
• Bicycles available for rent. Please let us know in advance!
• Fresh water from our own well.
Interaction with Guests
Minimal friendly interaction unless requested otherwise.
We can take you on the 'rounds', feeding and taking care of the animals.
Crann Óg Eco Farm is well situated for excursions to the Burren National Park, the Cliffs of Moher, the Wild Atlantic Way, Coole Park, Kilmacduagh Monastery and Thoor Ballyle.
Crann Óg Eco Farm is nestled between two native Irish woodlands and a stones throw from the mysterious Gort river, which disappears underground and re-appears seven times on it's way to Dunguaire Castle in Kinvarra.
We are 9km from the town of Gort and a 45 minutes drive away from Galway city and the town of Ennis.
You can get here by public transport (BusEireann #51 from Galway or Limerick/Ennis to Gort) and taxi. But it is advisable to have your own car or bike for exploring the greater area. Safe, onsite parking available.
Other Things to Note
Minimum stay: two nights!
If you want to bring your dog, it has to be friendly with kids and animals!!
(Other dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, horses, sheep). We handle this on a case by case basis so please contact us in advance!
Noise - The natural silence that surrounds Crann Óg is a great resource to be enjoyed and respected by all so late nights are fine with respectful awareness of neighbours and other beings who also inhabit the area. Please don't use any amplified music sources on the farm or in the woodlands.
Water use - we harvest rain water and have a supply of beautiful fresh clean well water and are mindful of how to make best use of this resource.
Alcohol - please use alcohol in moderation as we do not tolerate loud and obnoxious behaviour.
Compost toilets - We have dry toilets with simple instructions for use.
Smoking - No smoking allowed inside any building!
Waste - Creative ways to recycle are encouraged and demonstrated, we have systems in place for waste management.
