Crann Óg is nestled between two native Irish woodlands and a stones throw from the mysterious Gort river, which disappears underground and re-appears seven times on it's way to Dunguaire Castle in Kinvarra. We are 9km from the town of Gort and a 45 minutes drive away from Galway city and the town of Ennis. Crann Óg is well situated for excursions to the Burren national park, the Cliffs of Moher, Coole Park, Kilmacduagh Monastery and Thoor Ballyle.
Other Things to Note
Minimum stay: two nights!
Waste - Creative ways to recycle are encouraged and demonstrated, we have systems in place for waste management.
Water use - we harvest rain water and have a supply of beautiful fresh clean well water and are mindful of how to make best use of this resource.
Noise - The natural silence that surrounds Crann Óg is a great resource to be enjoyed and respected by all so late nights are fine with respectful awareness of neighbours and other beings who also inhabit the area. Please don’t use any amplified music sources on the farm or in the woodlands.
Compost toilets - We have dry toilets with simple instructions for use.
Flor met us as we arrived and made us feel very welcome, showing us around his incredible property. The cabin is nestled right on the edge of a beautiful old woodland and feels almost like a a tree house. The room is cosy and well-insulated, while the porch is perfect for catching the sun. We had a magical time relaxing, going for walks and cycling around the area. The friendly sheep were a particular surprise! We couldn't reccomend this place more
