Haumea Villa Description.

Live your dream in Maui private, secluded villas in a gated property retreat where you are the only guest -- surrounded by unspoiled natural beauty, brilliant rainbows, sunsets over the ocean -- whether you are in honeymoon, sport vacation, family getaway or just want to spend relaxing time on the island.
Have the best of both worlds by staying away from crowds and commercialized development, yet conveniently situated for exploring the entire island, just minutes from hiking, beaches, shops, and fine dining.

Unlike the typical resorts and hotels to the west or south, Maha Maui Villas is a private retreat on the north shore of Maui. This part of the island still offers the chance to experience a natural paradise of pristine beaches, bamboo jungle, waterfalls and tropical rainforest.

Haumea Villa.

The name. Haumea is the great earth goddess, sometimes equated to Papa the creatrice, and sometimes to La'iLa'i, the first woman. Her children are said to have been born from different parts of her body, which befits an earth goddess. That she is a very old goddess is evidenced by the fact that she was incorporated into several different Hawaiian religions, including that of Pele, for whom she plays the role of mother. She is usually associated with food supply, marriage, birth, and rebirth. In chants she is called Haumea "of mysterious forms, of eightfold forms, of four hundred thousand forms." One of her commonly known forms, however, is the breadfruit tree. There is no single word haumea in Hawaiian, but hau can mean "a ruler" and mea can mean "reddish (like red earth)." Because of her position as an earth goddess, and because Hawaiians consider stones as the bones of the earth, the Kahilis say that she represents the element of stone.

  • After 12 wonderful days in Maui we were all very sad that we had to leave this magical island. Laka Villa is a perfect place to stay if you appreciate spending your vacation away from crowdy tourist places. That was our plan and it worked out perfectly for us. You need a car for easy access to the property. But that is a general suggestion for Maui. Having a car makes your vacation definitly more comfortable. No worries, driving there is totally relaxed – hang loose also counts on the streets. Haiku is a good spot close to all the wind surfing beaches and a good starting point for other activities such as horse riding, road to hana, haleakala crater, exploring Paia etc. BTW at the fish market in Paia you get the best fried calamaris ever!

Our Landlord Nicolas has a good taste for interior design. The furniture at the apartment is well selected and combined harmonically. Laka Villa has a good set of equipment. Everthing looked brand new, very clean and the beds were really comfortable - we all sleped like happy logs. There was a lot of space for clothes, bags etc. Perfect for us 4 Swiss-Girls!

Communication with Nicolas was very releaxed and convenient. All our inquiries were answered right away. Check In an Check Out was really easy and Nicolas also let us stay longer due to our evening flight. Mrs Lourdes the person in charge for the property was really helpful and our requests were settled right away.

Thank you Nicolas for leting us stay at Laka Villa. You were a great host and we decided to nominate you for „the best landlord among the entire pacific rim award “. I hope you accept this nomination.

  • We liked the place so much that we extended our stay there. The house is decorated in a really lovely way - very modern and clean, quiet and peaceful.
Would definitely stay there again. Nicolas was very helpful and very good in communicating which made our stay very relaxed. I can absolutely recommend this place!!

  • When we started comunicating with Nicolas and wanted to book we had a problem with Airbnb for a few days, Nicolas got hold of them and sorted it out within a few hours. After arriving his manager on site had double booked the villa so we had to stay one night in another and move the following day to another one. First of all Nicolas had no knowledge of this and made imediate financial compensation and instead of waitting around the following day to move we went out and the cleaning girls moved and everything was waitting in the new villa.
The complex is gated and consists of four villas each differant in size and layout, but with everything you need. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was great to sit out on the covered deck drinking and eating, from the bbq, while it was lashing down with rain. Being away from the main crowds up in the country has it's advantage, quite, lovley and green with the fresh smell after the rains. A short drive to Paia for it's beaches and quaint town with some good places to eat. A good base to do the Hana Highway, Haleakala Crater and don't miss Makawao.

Would recomend the place for families or a romantic hideway

  • My wife and I spent a week here in late Feb and loved it. Nicolas was really easy to deal with and everything was as expected. We hired a car and the location made it really easy to get around - especially the road to Hana, also Makawao and Paia. Would happily recommend staying here..

  • Excellent property. Very spacious and in lovely grounds. All mod cons and everything brand new. Perfect for people who want a quiet braek away from the crowds. You do need a car.

  • Beautiful place in the semi - secluded Haiku. Definitely the place you want to be away from crowds, but make sure you rent a car, as you will need one! My stay was very relaxing and no issues. Great place I would go back again!

  • The place is quit, rural and beautiful. Nicolas is very friendly, welcoming and professional. Any communication was responded very quickly. He recommended places to see and dine around the beautiful area of Paia. The local beach in Paia is just a 15 minute drive away and have the best surf spots on the island as well as yoga studios.
The five different apartments are brand new with everything you need, included soft towels, beach towels and comfy beds.
Apartment number one and two have the best view over the ocean and the countryside with huge terraces.
We stayed in number five where there is a outdoor sitting area, but no ocean view.
There's a local cafe just a quick walk away with tasty coffee, fresh croissants and lots of good bakery for breakfast and lunch.
We loved staying there and will be back as soon as possible.
Highly recommended by 3 Norwegian girls :-)
