Interaction with Guests
I live in a granny flat at the back of the house and am generally around for assistance or coffee and conversations.
The neighbourhood has been established for about 50 years and is very quiet and friendly.
There are bus stops at the end of the street that will take you into town (about 10 minutes) or to the local shopping centre (2 minutes) but it is easier by car.
Other Things to Note
No cooking after 9.00 pm
This is strictly a no smoking house. The most important house rule is to show consideration to others and clean up after yourself especially the kitchen and bathroom.
From Dec 01, 2015 - Feb 29, 2016 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
This accommodation worked out very well for us and Jan let us know all the details when we collected the key. Very clean and comfortable. Thanks.
We're Airbnb veterans and this was hands-down the greatest experience in that field we've ever had. I cannot praise Jan enough; never have I met someone so warm, accommodating and convivial. The accommodation is literally perfect, Jan's expertise of the local area is second to none (she has more leaflets about the surrounding area than a tourist information centre!) and the family (who are absolutely delightful - the dog being a notable highlight!) went out of their way to look after us while still giving us space. I simply cannot recommend this listing enough. Thank you Jan, you will definitely be seeing us again - even if it's totally out of the way of wherever we're travelling!

She was very kind and friendly. She gave us a recommendation for a restaurant and it was very delicious! Her wi-fi connectivity was great. The water was hot and jetted tub was great!
Jan made things easy for us. Great directions, always contactable by phone. But if you book here make sure you know how to turn the heating on in the room. We woke up throughout the night because the room was so cold (I'm used to cold - I live in England - but this was ridiculous, and the onus is on the host to let the guest know about this sort of problem BEFORE they go to bed). When we mentioned the cold to Jan's daughter (Jan wasn't around in the morning) we were told we should have asked about the heating before we went to bed!!! But we didn't know how cold the room would get. This was the only AirBnB irritation during our 3 weeks in Australia. A great shame, because the house was fine in all other respects and Jan was most helpful regarding local information etc.
Jan was so nice. She communicated great and met us as we arrived. We had a short stay and she was not around much. Her place was so nice - clean, neat and just as advertised. I strongly recommend her home as a great place to stay.
We had an amazing time in Warrnambool and Jan and her family did everything to make us feel welcome and part of the family. The 'enormous room' was in fact enormous :) but very cosy, and location wise close to everything needed.
Jan had a full house when we arrived, there were 4 other rooms occupied, but it was fun meeting everyone else and seeing what their travel plans are. We had a wonderful stay, loved the house, dog, Jan and her fam and look forward to seeing them again some time in the future.
The enormous room was exactly that, close to the kitchen and handy to the extra toilet. Jan and her sister were very friendly and the bathroom was large and clean. It was a busy weekend but it worked well even though it was more than 1/2 hours drive to Port Fairy. Good value for money thanks Jan

About the Host, Jan
I live in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia in a granny flat at the back of the house. I also work full time for a local engineering firm and spend most of my days chasing the pet dog and enjoying a leisurely life. The best part of the Airbnb experience that I enjoy is meeting all of the diverse people who come through my door. The coffee and conversations all make people memorable. The worst thing about Airbnb is the fact that I crave to travel again. There is always next year.
