This large beautiful Victorian on the "Riviera" of W. Cliff Drive is a landmark. Walk out the door to panoramic views reaching from Steamer's Lane to the wharf and Boardwalk. Walk a few blocks and you are at one of the many beaches along W. Cliff to watch world class surfers or try it yourself.
This large family house was designed to be reminiscent of houses we knew from Nantucket and the Cape. Built only twelve years ago it has modern amenities including a huge eat-in kitchen.
Downstairs bedroom with queen bed has a bathroom suite with a new walk in shower. Easy entry directly from the front door and privacy with ability to close off the bathroom and bedroom from the rest of the house.
Great porches on the front and back of the house provide space for leisurely enjoying the seaside pace.
Take a bike ride along the path on W. Cliff or head up to Wilder Ranch for a little local history. Walk or ride downtown to visit the small shops and restaurants, or take in a movie (Santa Cruz has over 18 screens showing everything from blockbusters to small indies).
I had a really wonderful stay in this grand vintage beach house! The room is cosy and tastefully done, as is the bathroom. It's a fun household. Kim was a lovely host. Just across the street is a great walking path that runs along the beachfront and goes on and on.....
I would happily go back!
What a beautiful house in a fabulous location! Our room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Perfect location for a swim, surf or walk along the ocean. Great restaurants within walking distance as well. Kim could not have been more helpful. Can't wait to return!
We had a wonderful weekend getaway at this great beach house! All you have to do is walk across the street for an amazing view of the Bay and the Beach Boardwalk. The boardwalk is particularly beautiful at night.
You can walk to the Beach Boardwalk in about 5 minutes and downtown in about 25 minutes. Cafe Brasil (a must on any trip to Santa Cruz) is just a 20 minute walk from the house.
If you love grand old houses with large kitchens, you will love this house. The room was immaculate, comfortable, very private and it was "pin-drop" quiet at night. I whole-heartedly recommend this place to any couple looking for a nice place to stay in Santa Cruz! We are already looking forward to our next visit!
The house cannot be located at a better place. It is just blocks away from the Boradwalk. I rent their guest room downstairs, but it's really a suite by itself with a nice walkin shower. Despite being on the ground floor and by the street, the room was very quiet, spacious and comfortable. Kim and Mike are wonderful hosts, I had some specific requirements which they gladly accommodated. They make you feel welcomed into their home. I had a wonderful stay and I will definitely be back again.
Oh my gosh, perfection overlooking the ocean ! I felt like I stepped back through time, what with the wonderful house, but the bathroom was 2013, whooo hoooo, lol. Kim was always available if we had a question. My husband and I had a wonderful time !
For my needs: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION, as well as the spacious sanctuary of the house's en-suite bed and bath. Even the 1/4 mile away Boardwalk sounds ended early enough for a great night's sleep. Walks in all directions, to the sand, the Lighthouse cliffs and woods, as well as the immediate neighborhood and its' eclectic collection of architectural styles suited my curiosity and fitness fulfillment. The nearness of downtown restaurants and New Leaf organic groceries was another bonus. Though Kim and I never met, face-to-face, she was a constant e-mail/text message presence in making sure I had all the settling-in details needed for my stay. Truly a great mini-vacation home-away-from-home, with the silence and privacy I greatly appreciate. Thank you Kim and thanks to your daughter, Carie too!!
Wow, what a location and such an amazing house. Private and cute room. So much better than a Santa Cruz hotel! We will be back!
What a great location! Walk 2 blocks and you are right at the beginning of the boardwalk. Our host, Kim, was very helpful. She made great recommendations for food in the area and was very hospitable.
A lovely space/location and Kim was very gracious!
Kim was the perfect host and I felt very comfortable in my room which was exactly as described. Right across the street from the walk above the beach and close to my friend's cottage. The "suite" was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the electric heater on a chilly morning. It was extremely quiet. Kim kindly lent me a plant identification book when I asked about a particular bush/tree that I had seen nearby. Thank you for your hospitality, Kim.
