Very nice place with awesome view!! Staff extremely friendly and helpful. You need a car to get there (we rented a cabrio/convertible whoch was super nice).

This location is stunning and the views are breathtaking. I must advise that it is VERY remote and is nestled between two very small villages- Sassofortino which you can walk to (amazing Pizza Bar run by a very lovely native family- ate there twice!) We were fortunate enough to be there during the Chestnut Festival and had a fun time wandering through the village- locals with their cellars open offering their artisan crafts, food, and music. The other town Rossotederinghi is a very short drive but has several lovely restaurants- Conchiglia and Da Nada both of which have amazing food and views and a local Ceramic shop with handmade bowls/platters/candle holders. The vineyard is stunning for a walk or a hike/run or to just sit back with a glass of wine and take in the ethereal Tuscan sunsets. I must advise to bring some snacks or purchase some bread/cheese/provisions in one of the (URL HIDDEN) enjoy with your wine on premises. The rooms are cramped but functional and the terraces peaceful. Our room was immediately off of main room so it tended to be loud and busy as we could easily hear guests at wine tastings/playing cards/entering house at all times of day or night...ask for a room towards rear of main building if possible.

Our stay at Valdonca was amazing, the staff was very welcoming, kitchen stocked with fruit and dishes you need to prepare your own meal. The beds and bedding were amazing as well and put you in a nearly spa-like atmosphere. The property is also gorgeous as you sit on your private balcony you will enjoy the views of the vineyard and Tuscan country side. A great place to find some quite time and recharge. Pool are and hammocks were also just as pictured! This is not a touristy area which is exactly what we wanted. The Tuscan villages near by are very authentic and quaint.

Staying in Valdonica was the perfect ending for the roadtrip around Tuscany. The intention was to drive around Tuscany, while knowing its nature, people, culture, food and obviously wine! We had the perfect welcome dinner (luckily we arrived on a wednesday) where we had the chance to taste delicious homemade pasta and "torta de la nonna", while enjoying the great wines produced in Valdonica (baciòlo, my favorite) and knowing very interesting guests. Having breakfast with homemade local produts or drinking a glass of wine at the sunset, while looking at the vineyards were the perfect ways to start and finish the day in Valdonica. The staff was very helpful and friendly during the stay. Will definitely recomend Valdonica and I hope to return soon.

This was an excellent experience from start to finish. We stayed for a week and used the vineyard as a base of operations to explore the region. We went to Pisa, Siena, and Cortona; as well as smaller nearby villages and the beach. It's a spectacular location and the staff is very accommodating. And if you can make it to the weekly wine tasting dinner, you should!!! If you don't have a GPS, you should give yourself extra travel time wherever you go. It took us a few days to get used to the way roads were marked and driving distances described. And try to learn a little Italian before you go. Simply being polite in the native language helps immensely, and it's a must if you want to go to a small mom-and-pop restaurant.

Martin, Massimo, and Tina were excellent hosts. They made excellent recommendations for us so far as day travel and were incredibly accommodating. The room, bathroom, and property are as they look in the photos (if not better). We had an excellent time and would recommend Valdonica to anyone who is considering taking the trip.

Julia greeted us with a smile and a complimentary bottle of wine from the winery. She was quick to suggest restauants and events in the area and offered to make reservations for us. She showed us the accommodations and let us know about the grounds etc. she was marvelous.

Thanks for your interest! Home is VALDONICA - my winery in Tuscany/ Italy. Growing up in Vienna/ Austria, I love to visit Vienna once in a while and I love my apartment: In the heart of the city, above the roofs, in genuine Vienna...quietly & peacefully. I am happy to share my places and I wish you a grand time!

How I ended up in Tuscany? Along my search for a summer house with a small garden, VALDONICA has found me - it was instant love: Deeply touched by the beauty of nature, by the view to the Meditterean Sea...I bought it, even though it came with 80 hectars/160 acres. Six years ago my life changed completely - I stepped out of my classic career and stepped into VALDONICA. A big change...
A winery was never part of my live plans....VALDONICA happened to me, and it´s the best what could have happened. Share into VALDONICA - great to meet you here soon....the VALDONICA Team is happy to welcome You. Massimo manages your reservation, Angela spoils you with her breakfast, PierPaolo makes the wines...and I love to reflect and philosophy with our guests!
And when you come to my Vienna-Apartment, a bottel of VALONICA wine awaits You....
