The Apartment is really great. It is very comfortable and clean. Near to the centre, it is only 10-15 minutes to Palazzo Vecchio by foot.
Next time I come to Florence I'd like to live here again!
Tomasso was a fantastic host, and was extremely helpful. He sat down with us with a map and outlined the entire city; sites, restaurants, bars, gellaterias etc. He was also very easy to get a hold of at any time, which was very convenient if we had any questions. My wife and I slept on the lower level to battle the record heat, which was much nicer. The location is central but a little bit on the outskirts, which is great for noise control. There are a few amazing coffee shops on the block, and across the street is an amazing bakery and a grocery store, which made it easy to get wine and cheese for appetizers. We would definitely recommend staying here, the combination of location, apartment, and Tomasso was exactly what we needed on our honeymoon!
Tommaso was very nice and patient with us when we arrived late at night. He spent time with us walking through the flat and gave us a map to show how to get to the sites and also nightlife and restaurants. A complimentary bottle of wine was provided! The flat was very nice. I really felt it was authentically Florence. Very easy to walk to all the sites to see. Also close to the bus and train station. Grocery, bakery and pizza shops within a few dozen feet from building entrance. Negative I'd say that it was very hot the few days we stayed and the 2 fans were not enough but somehow we coped. I would definitely stay again but not in summer. So much to see and 3 days was not enough. I would like to come back and stay at Tommaso's perhaps in fall or winter.
Wonderful location, away from main tourist centre but an easy walk. Lots of local bars an cafes. Tomasso spent time showing us good tourist places to visit as well as personal recommendations.
We arrived Florence at around 10pm and Tommaso was awaiting us all the way in the apartment! We felt very welcomed. The apartment was very convenient and just around 5 to 10 min away from the train station. Totally walking distance! Just opposite to the apartment was a supermarket, a nice bakery and within a 5-min walk there is very highly-rated "Florence steak" restaurant. You could definitely complain nothing about its location!
Just a downside is that the apartment doesn't come with an air-con so we have to open the windows at night... The supermarket (opp to the apartment) would load goods in early morning at around 6am and you would be awakened by those noises... But you are early travellers, it would bother you much (like us!).
Last, the bathroom is a bit dim without lamp if you put the curtain on. It might bother you a bit if you are afraid of dark :)
Overall, we love the apartment and thanks Tommaso!
Tommaso's apartment was lovely and in a great neighborhood in Florence. It was a short walk to the major sites but a little bit outside of the tourist hustle and bustle but close to the river and nice restaurants/nightlife.
Tommaso was out of town so he arranged for his cousin and mom to give us a tour of the apartment and introduce us to the neighborhood. They were both very gracious - his mom told us about the best gelatto in the city!
Our stay at Tomasso's apartment was delightful. It is perfectly situated not only close to all the major sights but also in an internationally flavored neighborhood. Options are great when you just don't feel like eating Italian food. The apartment was very comfortable and charming. Tomasso's recommendations were spot on especially Tratorria 13 Gobbi. The water heater, wifi, and lift worked wonderfully. I would stay here each and every time. Thank you so much!!
