This beautiful Estate is located on the border of Nipomo, and Arroyo Grande, California. Central Coast, the best place to be! In the country, but a short 8 minute drive to the beach . 2 1/2 acres of english gardens, gazebo's, pool, jaquzzi, and an incredible home to top it off.We get the best weather ever, a micro climate, because we are below the Mesa, and do not get the fog. We are in- land enough from the beaches, so we do not get Gloom of fog, and the drive is short and sweet, if we do want to get to the Ocean.. The Schoolhouse was built in 1891, and later restored and converted into a family home. The house has 4 bedrooms, a family room for entertainment, a formal living room, with a baby grand piano, and a formal dining room, with a gorgeous Farm Table, that seats 10. There is a ton of light in the kitchen, with an entire wall of windows looking out to the pool and yard. There is an Island, with bench seats in the kitchen, too.The kitchen has all stainless steel appliances, a dishwasher, microwave, and a comfortable couch, to sit in.
The house is very lived in, love has defiantly dwelled here. Our family of 6 and dogs and cats , My husband and I moved here from Manhattan Bch in 2000, and raised our four children here. We have had goats, chickens, snakes, dogs, puppys cats, birds, & have made tremendous memories here. There is detail, and character in every inch of the house and grounds. There is a laundry room, a separate art barn, and a separate Yoga Studio. Three car garage, and guest house, which is rented out (email hidden)ere are 3 queen beds and CAL King. There is a queen sofa sleeper in the formal living room. So technically, 12 people can sleep here, if the beds are being shared. There is so much space in this house, there are 7 couches to choose from to kick back and read a book! One of pour favorite thing to do!

WOW! what can we say, Diane's place is a dream. The attention to detail that Diane has put into the barn is out of this world. It is so peaceful and tranquil here and the pool is amazing. The dogs were adorable and available for puppy therapy if needed like we did after missing our own dog. One of our favourite stops on our honeymoon. Highly recommended.
The beach bungalow was beautiful and just as expected!! My group was very comforable and felt right at home. Diane stopped by the house to meet me, but I missed her and I am sure she is as lovely as her home. Thank you, Diane!
The bungalow was charming and so perfectly located! We had a great girls weekend and were able to take advantage of the local car show, museums, farmers market, and downtown. We also enjoyed our mornings sitting out in the beautiful back yard.
We had a great stay at the charming cottage in Arroyo Grande. It was a perfect spot to celebrate our son's graduation from Cal Poly. It was perfectly located within walking distance from the downtown area and had all we needed, including a spacious backyard. We loved the decor and landscaping. Plenty of room to relax both inside and out.
The barn loft was a beautiful spot for a weekend getaway. Diane and her husband Michael couldn't have been any nicer. We just loved the added touch of fresh baked cookies when we arrived. Needless to say we devoured them! The pool and jacuzzi were a great way to spend a lazy afternoon next to their three adorable dogs. Convenient drive to Pismo and San Luis Obispo. Wifi is weak in the guest barn, but just be prepared to unplug and relax.
What a great weekend! My girlfriends and I had a relaxing weekend stay in the very comfortable barn apartment.
There was a bit of a heat wave which meant lots of lounging by the pool. I brought a small speaker to play some tunes as we lounged. Saturday morning we enjoyed a yoga class lead by Diane that was fantastic. I really enjoyed her flow style and the meditative visuals she gave us throughout our practice. Diane can modify the class depending on your level of experience or the type of challenge you're looking for.
Diane gave a great recommendation to check out Ember, a new restaurant in town. The food was delicious, friendly service, friendly atmosphere, and not too pricey. There is also a book with hike and restaurant recommendations in the apartment.
My friends and I were traveling in a Mini Cooper so we had to pack very light. I was pleased to see the apartment was equipped with:
-a hair dryer, I wish I didn't pack mine!
-towels for the bathroom AND pool towels
-dishes/cups/silverware for four people
-extra yoga mats
-$65 cleaning fee, check or cash
-$15/pp for community yoga classes she already has scheduled, or $20/pp for a private class
-$15/pp for meals
-Out of courtesy, try to contact Diane at least a week before your stay to coordinate any meals and yoga classes you plan on taking
-Most attractions are a 15-20 minute drive. We didn't mind since there is very little traffic.
-Three adorable dogs to greet you. If you're a dog lover they're available to play.
We stayed at Diane's guest house four days while visiting the area. It was a quiet retreat and Diane and her family were very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. The yard and pool area was paradise. It is just the kind of landscaping I prefer. We had our own little spot to park and it all worked just great!
Wow, what a relaxing week we just spent at Diane and Mike's secluded apartment with private pool and hot tub in the country, but close to logs of different beaches. We were vacationing as a small family of four, with two younger kids. The pool was a huge hit with the kids. I loved the peacefulness of the countryside. When it was cloudy at the beach, it was usually sunny at the property.
Diane and Mike were such wonderful hosts too. They were ok with another small family visiting us from LA and sharing the pool. They also let us wash our clothes in their washer and dryer. In general, they were super attentive and accommodating to all our needs. Their three fantastic dogs were a huge hit with the kids too!
Thanks Mike and Diane for the memories! We will be back!
I absolutely loved our short stay at Diane's beautiful private barn. It is so very peaceful there and her garden and yard is beyond words. So wonderful. I loved being away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby resorts. It was exactly what we needed. And we loved her dogs. Made us wish we would have brought ours. Thank you Diane for being such a wonderful hostess. We'd love to come back and stay even longer.
The barn, and the grounds around it, are beautiful-perfect for a quiet getaway. It's also in a lovely peaceful part of the countryside, and Diane's activity log and its suggestions for hikes and restaurants was very useful for making the most of the area. Potential guests should note the WiFi signal is weak in the living area, the washer/dryer is in the main family house and only available by request and that there's an additional cleaning fee. Those staying on Monday evening/Tuesday morning should also be aware that yoga classes take place on the floor below the barn. It didn't bother us, but it does involve music and so might disturb light sleepers looking for a lie-in. Loved our welcome nibbles from Diane, and the congratulatory dessert waiting for us when we came home from dinner after she found out we were on our honeymoon.
