Our home is located in quiet wooded setting of 5 acres. We have a couple of sheep and goats plus two cats. Fortunate for us, we are about a 2 minute drive from Middle Creek Wildlife management area where you will find all kinds of wildlife, hiking trails, the option to fish and watch birds. A highlight for many people is watching the snow gees migrate which usually begins around February. They come in excess of the 100,000's! It's quite a sight! We are not far from Lancaster city; about 1/2 hr. and about 45 min, drive to Hershey Park. Another unique aspect of where we live is that it's not uncommon to see Amish going by in their buggies. There's lots to do in the area ....shopping, antiquing, movies, culture and history.
The guests will access to the grounds and their private patio.
Interaction with Guests
As much or little as prefered by the guests.
Obviously, this is a home and not a hotel. We are an active organic family with four children so chances are good that you may hear or see them from time to time. That said, we strive to keep your experience here as our guest as comfortable as possible. We invite you join in with our activities as you feel led but release you to be as private as you wish. No burning anything inside the house. You are welcome to build a fire outside in the fire ring. Smoking is not permitted in the house however you may smoke on the patio if you dispose properly of butts. (Please DO NOT put them in the trash can inside the house) Make yourself at home but please be considerate and remember that this is our home too.
Jill met us at the door, there are a lot of signs directing you to where you should park and where the entrance to the private suite is.
There are playful goats on the property, dignified sheep and preoccupied chickens. We encountered two friendly cats shortly after arriving, both of which were adorable and made us feel even more welcome.
This is THE cleanest airbnb I have ever stayed in. This is the bar to beat. Everything was meticulous and beautiful. There are guides and brochures letting you know what to do in the area. The area this place is located in is peaceful and quiet.
The bed was very comfy, as was the shower and bathroom. The TV is equipped with netflix an the wifi seemed fast. Highly recommended if you are traveling through the area.
Jill was lovely. We ended up arriving late, but there was absolutely no stress. We were so grateful to get to build a fire and relax- everything was all set up (wood, kindling, paper, lantern). Jill made a beautiful, delicious breakfast. We enjoyed reading on the patio and listening to the birds. It was surprisingly very private. We enjoyed time with the kitten, and said hello to the goats and chickens before we left.
This is a lovely place. We really enjoyed staying here and would stay here again. The bed was a little worn, but we made it work. This property is managed by a wonderful, hard-working family. The area is dotted with small towns and villages, each with its local pub/restaurant. Good food everywhere.
A great location within beautiful grounds. A very well kept, well presented and lovely suite.
August 18th to the 23rd Jill was a gracious host andThe room we rented was at the back of the house with a private entrance. The bed is really comfy and the shower has amazing water pressure the house was equipped with dishes and cups. I really enjoyed the sounds of the forest and the animals on site. They own one of the cutest cat named Nora, who has wonderful manners. She would greet us every morning and help keep bugs away from the suite. They had assigned guest parking and it was easy coming and going
I came to stay as I am a Personal Chef and working with a small photo production company that was using a location nearby. What a wonderful situation for me! I have so enjoyed the place and our wonderful Hostess Jill ! Surrounded by lush grounds and forest, complete with a pond and goats, sheep and chickens to watch! I spent each evening on the patio watching fireflies (my first!) and enjoying the quiet. I truly hope to return! Jill is a delight!

About the Host, Jill
As a family we love to be outside - running, biking, camping, hiking and enjoying the great outdoors including going to our cabin up north. We love to read, watch movies and play games with the kids. We stay busy with our four energetic children; two teenage boys and two little girls we recently adopted.
We also love checking out new restaurants (especially breweries) and trying new things.
