Experience a taste of country living and escape the everyday in this rustic studio guest house. A perfect place for a quiet retreat.

Nestled into the hillside along a rural country road, enjoy the peace of country living within easy reach of all the North State has to offer.

Soak in the serenity of the guest cottage, gaze out the large windows across the yard. In the evening the sound of crickets fills the air and a view of the stars is just outside your door.

The space
With 400 square feet of rustic living space and Mid-Century modern style architecture the cottage is a gem. Sleep on the cozy upper level of the studio near the wood burning stove in the winter or in the cool breeze of the evaporative cooler in the summer. Enjoy the the high ceilings, stained glass and dry bar on the lower level surrounded by windows. The dry bar includes a mini fridge, cups & wine glasses, french press, and electric water kettle.

The cottage is an older building with tons of character but there is no running water in the space. You'll always have access to the bathroom which is at the back of the main house. The detached shared bathroom is just 15 steps away with a large stall shower, sink and toilet; it’s in the mud room/ laundry area which is separated from the main house by a closed door. My family does use the shower in this bathroom but we work hard to respect our guests' space.

New smart Vizio TV is also equipped with a DVD player and HDMI connection; hundreds of movies, shows and music at your fingertips.
Coffee from Heritage Roasting Company on a French Press is provided for the first morning.

Air purifier that keeps the air clean and free of pollutants!

4/19/20- I’m only accepting guests who are relatively certain they are not carrying COVID19. We’ve had very few cases in our area and I’m trying to do my part in keeping it that way.

Guest access
The cottage is your private retreat.
The hot tub is closed to guests at this time due to COVID concerns.
Fireplace use is limited to November through April. One Duraflam log is provided, please do not use the firewood.
Say hello to our outside cat Killmouski and our dog Titus. If you're lucky you'll get to watch them play; it's pretty funny. Killmouski will try and sneak into the cottage, please help us keep the cottage pet free for our guests with allergies.

Other things to note
Our outside cat Killmouski will try and sneak inside, he is very playful and friendly which is sometimes the highlight of people's stay. He will often greet you and ask to be pet. Please help us keep him outdoors for the sake of our guests with allergies.

Street parking is very limited, please park in the designated space inside the gated driveway. There is not parking for oversized vehicles or trailers. Please do not drive or park in the grass.

The eclectic country neighborhood is quite and full of people who look out for each other. Most of the neighbors have lived in their homes for a long time, even generations. There is a small neighborhood park that is often filled with happy children.

Hello! My name is Sara and I love where I live. Northern CA has been my lifelong home and I enjoy all the beauty and outdoor recreation this area has to offer. My favorite things in FarNorCal are: backpacking, downhill skiing, water skiing, swimming in the lake and star gazing. I also enjoy good books, my family and friends, and great coffee. Oh, and food, I really love good food. My house is quiet and full of genuine people who value the peace of our country home. I'm a hands off host, I will only interact with you if you seek me out. But if you need pointers or have questions I'm easy to reach!

During your stay
We enjoy hosting and respect our guests need for privacy. My hosting style is more hands off but I’m easy to reach. If you ever have a question or concern I'm just a message away.

My family loves the area and are happy to share our favorite places to eat or hike. Please let us know what your needs are when you arrive. We live in the main house on our property and sometimes work from home, however we are not always available to chat. Guests are welcome to knock on the door or send me a message :)
