Welcome to our family house, just 1min walk to the beach! We rent the 3 rooms to travellers who want to live the real "pura vida life style" for few days, sharing with them the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and the big gardens in front and behind the house!

The Space

The house has 2 double rooms and one single room. The guests share the big kitchen, the bathroom, the laundry room and the great spaces for relax or stretch after sport.
What makes our location ideal is the fact that you're just in front of the Santa Teresa Beach access, really closed to the best surf spot here! It takes 30 second to reach the beach! And you'll be closed also to the shops, restaurants and night life, but surprisingly always in a peaceful place where you can stay in a hammock absorbing the animal sounds and relax.

Guest Access

My boyfriend is an expert mountain bike guide, if you like sport as we do, we can offer you mountain bike tours, or spearfishing tours too.
I'm an italian qualified masseuse, so you can also enjoy a great MASSAGE during your staying!

Interaction with Guests

Casa Amapola is a Family House: we live here with our dog River, so we share with the travellers our "pura vida life style" and we are always there for the guests!
Meals are not included, but we can cook and have dinners and party with guests like with friends, and share the cost!

  • We had a great time staying at Monica's house in Santa Teresa. Monica was out of town but her friend Tom, who was hosting, was super nice and very helpful. He went out of his way to help us plan our daily adventures. The house is quiet and perfect for friends or couples but centrally located to restaurants and the beach. We wished we could have stayed longer and were very happy with our choice to stay at Monica's in Santa Teresa!

  • We loved the place. It was an easy walk to the beach with great waves for surfing. Tom, who was in charge of the house during our stay, was very friendly. He helped us to plan our future travels and he showed us the best surf spots. Thanks to him we were able to meet friendly cool people. We would strongly recommend this place and we would definitely use it again if we happen to be in Santa Teresa.

    Pura Vida :).

Costa Rica is an amazing place.

  • This little home, right off the main street has great access to the beach, and we were able to walk to everything we needed. We wished we could have enjoyed more time here, as it was comfortable and relaxing. The home was simple, and nicely setup for multiple guests.

Hope to meet you guys next time, as we expect there to be a next time.

  • This small beach town is in a prime location & right beside a yoga studio with all organic food that you wont want to miss. The bedrooms are clean and cozy and the atmosphere is great. We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed every moment of it. Beach is super close, go rent a surf board for a few days and enjoy the beautiful beaches and waves here.

  • Unfortunately I was unable to make it the first night due to transportation issues out of my control, but I had a great time at Monica's place. It's in the best location, so close to beach and great surfing! Though Monica was out of town, Miguel helped me out and made sure I felt right at home. Definitely recommend!

  • My Girlfriend and me stayed for a few days at Monicas and Suevos place. The rooms are bright, nice and clean with a fan and a moskito grid on the window. They were wonderful hosts that let you be part of their own pura vida lifestyle. We were cooking delicious food together, Suevos Barbecue skills are great and he knows where to buy or catch the freshest fish...
    Thank you so much!

  • I stayed with Monica and I really loved it. It 's an open house for everybody like a shared flat. It is really close to the beach and you can reach everything by feed. The Room was spacious and clean. It was a good choice for me.

  • Monica was a great host and the house is the perfect location for Santa Teresa!

We stayed there 6 nights and had an amazing time. Monica and everyone else that was staying at the house were entertaining, inviting, friendly and made us feel like we were at home. They knew so many people in the community that we felt like we had 20 new friends right away!

  • We loved our stay at Casa Amapola! Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Monica & Svevo were excellent hosts and invited us into their home with open arms!
We were only able to stay one night but Monica & Svevo invited us to various activities throughout our week stay in Santa Theresa. As well as being great at making us feel comfortable, they were also very knowledgeable about the area and were able to recommend great restaurants, places to hear live music and a good place to rent a surf board!
The house and room were very nice and clean and the location is amazing being so close to the beach. The vibe at the house is very mellow and creates a relaxing environment. We very much enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back to stay with them again when we return to Santa Theresa!!

Hey guys! I moved to Costa Rica in april2013 with my boyfriend Svevo and my dog River. I was looking for a different life style, far from stress and sad faces, and here I found it! I can't live without: travel... mountains (I know, in CostaRica there are not big mountains... but I said I love travel, no?)... friends... sport... and give massages! I really love to know new people who want to share with me their life experiences... with our guests i'd like to have a friendly relationship!
