Lisa's private room for rent was just (email hidden)ry private. Other than the beautiful walkway of candles that were lit for our night entrance to the room, it really felt like we had rented our own separate place without paying the crazy Santa Cruz/Capitola prices! She was very welcoming, informative about the area and the room and bath were comfortable, quiet, and clean. We'd love to come back to this place again sometime when we're in the area :)
Lisa's place was great, definitely made us feel welcome with wine and candles to boot. The room is terrific and the backyard patio is awesome! We love Capitola and would be happy to stay there again.
Lisa's place is beautifully decorated with attention and care. The garden is gorgeous and location charming - minutes from the beach.
If we had one gripe it was the fact that we were aware that Lisa could hear everything we said and any amount of sound coming from our section of the house would disturb her. We discussed this with her and she was generous in her reply.
I think my diligence in protecting your privacy has given you the wrong idea. I called attention to the area(bathroom) that bordered another room saying that sometimes when a guest is having conversation in the bathroom, it might be heard in the next room. No, I could not hear everything you were saying, in fact you were very nice and quiet guests. I think I stressed the quiet preference since you were 3 young energetic people and I have clearly billed my listing as a quiet retreat. I am sorry you got the false impression that "any amount of noise disturbed me". To the contrary, I take care not to create noise disturbance for my guests. I appreciated you giving me the opportunity to clear that up for you the first morning.
OK, I have a "thing" for nighttime quiet - maybe I am a so-called "light sleeper", I don't know - Lisa's place is SO completely quiet! I slept 10 solid, much-needed, uninterrupted, battery-charging hours, two nights in a row; I was in Capitola for work, and the work I do can be very physically exhausting. Ahhhhhhh... candles lined the patio walkway to my space, the sheets, the bed, the French press coffee maker for my morning reality check on the lovely patio ... all were PERFECT! If I travel / work in Capitola again, this will be my go-to place!
Lisa is a wonderful host and greeted us with a welcoming drink, candles lighting the way to our door, and advice on where to eat. My husband and I were celebrating his birthday and appreciated the private retreat as well as the warm garden area as a place to sip coffee in the morning. The house is in a great location, walking distance to Capitola village and restaurants, and a very short hop down to the beach. We were in the area to Mt. Bike and Lisa provided a safe space for us to store our bikes overnight. Finally, on our last night, she surprised us with a delicious piece of chocolate cake from Gayles! Lisa pays attention to details, the room was very creative and inviting, with a super cozy bed! I loved the chilled bottles of filtered water in the fridge and the coffee makings for morning. We look forward to coming back soon!
We stayed in Lisa'a charming garden room for a long weekend, enjoying everything a little beach town has to offer, very sweet. It was a cozy space to come home to and we much appreciated it. I especially loved the candle light that greeted us in the garden at night!
Such impressive hospitality! The most charming suite I've stayed in. Yes, its a "private room" but its completely separate from the house, with access to a gorgeous garden and SO much larger and better equipped and homey than any hotel room.
Would definitely stay again! Thanks Lisa!
