Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Only if I can show you how to be happy with little. It is simple and minimalistic, it is green and sustainable, it is so wild that you feel a million miles away from civilisation. Surrounded by 99 acres of conservation forest, you will find abundant wildlife. You can hear the birds during the day and wallabies at night. Eagles soar in the sky. Try stargazing and spot the Aurora. I enjoy the tranquillity and solitude of the place, but it's also special to share with company. 4WD is recommended.

The space
This 28m2 cabin is designed by Maguire and Devine Architects and built by Merlin Constructions at 2017. Completely off the grid and with minimalist interior.

Guest access
As most roads of the Island are unsealed, 4WD is highly recommended. Please try to arrive in the daylight, as no street light, it’s difficult to find your way in the dark.

Other things to note
As the cabin is off grid, water and power are limited. However, it is sufficient for normal daily use during guest's stay (provided everyone uses fair share and limits bath time to once per visit). The cabin flooring is lined with Baltic pine, as its a very soft timber, shoes and wheeled suit cases are not allowed inside the cabin. Wood for fires is provided.

Neighborhood highlights

When you stay at my special 'Tiny Cabin', you feel completely removed from the hectic world and in a slice of quiet heaven surrounded only by nature. For me, I arrive and immediately feel calm. It's an incredible spot to meditate and pause life to enjoy the present on your own; and just as special to share with somebody. However, you're not too far from amenities - the local grocery shop, fish and chips, Bruny Hotel pub and the pharmacy are within a couple of kilometres. There's a great jetty to fish off and so much more to explore on this lovely island.

My work: Emergency department
I am an emergency doctor, live in Tasmania for almost 2 decades and enjoy abundant Tassie wilderness in my spare time. Wilderness is the best therapy as doctor's order!
