Stay in a piece of history!
Located in the quiet countryside 5 km south of the beautiful medieval city of Siena, the Sant'Andrea apartment is in the fully restored 15th century Monastery of Sant'Andrea.
Even if your dates are unavailable, please inquire. We have another, larger apartment, available less than a kilometer away.
Only 5 minutes from the Superstrada linking Siena to Florence and the beaches, this residence is an ideal base for reaching many Tuscan attractions, most within a 1 hour drive.
This residence is located in a peaceful area, has a private entrance, a private garden and its own, lovely shared green park. Parking and W-Fi Internet are also included with the rental. The Sant'Andrea location enjoys the convenience of a tranquil and reserved atmosphere in the Tuscan hills and a close proximity to the cultural and artistic attractions of Siena.
The nicely furnished Sant'Andrea apartment is ideal for a couple or a family (sleeps 4) looking for an unforgettable vacation in the prime tourist area of Tuscany. The historic centre of Siena is a 10-minute drive. Florence, San Gimignano, the Chianti vineyards and the hill towns to the south (Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano) are all a short drive away.
At walking distance (800 metres) in Costalpino Village are: a nice restaurant, a pizza place, bar and cafe with cappuccino and croissant for your breakfast, grocery store, Post Office, pharmacy and newspaper shop.
In the opposite direction (south) you will find the village called San Rocco a Pilli with all services including the Coop Supermarket.
Guests love the Coop for its huge selection of local specialties, fresh produce, meats and bakery. The selection at the coop changes frequently by the season so guests love to return again and again. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to the fancy tourist shops.
For those of you with no car a convenient bus stop is located less than a block down the street.
The apartment is completely equipped with everything you need. All you have to bring are groceries, clothes and a toiletries!
Upon request, we will stock starter groceries at the apartment. You will be able to enjoy the first meals without the hassle of having to buy food at your arrival. The service cost is 30 euros + the cost of the groceries. You can specify your favourite menu by email. If you are arriving late at night or have a hectic schedule this service is a life-saver!
Guests will have access to the entire apartment, private garden, common areas and parking. The BBQ is not available to guests for insurance reasons.
The apartment is the perfect base for exploring the magical medical town of Siena. Siena is the insider's favourite Italian destination. But parking is very limited inside Siena, so our apartment in Sant' Andrea is perfect. Drive five minutes to the car park just outside the Siena gates (or take the local bus) and walk in.
If you are visiting Tuscany further afield the apartment is also a great starting point. Inside the apartment are guide books and maps for your research. Florence, the beaches, world-famous wine areas and hot springs are all an hour or less away.
The Siena train station is a ten minute drive. The closest major airport is Florence, about an hour.
Interaction with Guests
We interact with our guests mostly by email. My on-site manager, Andrea, will be available by phone and in person to ensure your stay is the best possible.
We love Siena, the classic medieval hill town. Usually when you travel you get to a place and then go off to see the sites. In Siena is plenty to see but you can just relax, live la dolce vita, and be in the sites. Everywhere you turn is beauty - a hill with castle on top in one direct, rolling valleys with vineyards in the other direction. Venice, Rome and Florence all have wonderful things to see and do. But in Siena you can just be, surrounded by beauty, immersed in Tuscan living.
As Rick Steves says, if you fall in love with Italy, it will probably be here.
The bus into Siena is less than a block from the apartment.
The major Superstrada is a five minute drive.
Parking is included.
Other Things to Note

Pets and smoking are not allowed.
Communications with Allesandro were easy and clear. He gave us lots of information on the apartment including a map which helped us out when we got there. We drove past the place a few times before finding it. The entrance for the monastery is located up an alley. When we got there we met Andrea (the apartment manager). He showed us around and left us his number if we needed anything. The place is quite big and really has charm. We were 4 adults and a baby and had plenty of room. We appreciated the indoor garage, the terrace out back and the small chapel you can visit! The bus passes a few meters from the door. We found this very convenient as we used it to visit Siena (about a 10 minute bus ride). This place was great and well located, other villages such as San Gimignano and Monterigioni are an easy drive for a day-trip. We highly recommend this location to anybody who is visiting Siena.
I live in Calgary Canada, but I spend 4 months a year in Italy (Tuscany, Siena). I am Geologist and work for an oil Company. I love fishing and traveling.
I wish a good life to everyone!
