Matt was very accommodating with my last minute booking. He was able to arrange my stay the day before check in. The space is amazing, and I loved the location. It's very large with a loft feel, as the bedroom is on a separate floor. Washer + Dryer is a huge plus. It was very cold during February, so we did not get to use the expansive patio.
Unfortunately the unit was FREEZING the entire duration of our stay. It was very uncomfortable. The vents blew cold air and we had to restart the air system a few times. Additionally, a dog lives here (wasn't there during the stay), which I do not think was noted in the listing. That's a crucial note to make as I prefer not to stay somewhere with pets. There were dog hairs around in the living area and restroom. The water pressure in the bathroom was very weak and the shower also did not get very hot which made the coldness unbearable.
Despite my personal issues, I would totally recommend this unit to someone looking for a swanky Brooklyn hideout during the SUMMER months with an easy-going an helpful host! Especially if you don't mind pets. Thanks Matt.
Mathew has a beautiful home well equipped in a great location in Williamsburg. Our stay was effortless from booking to key collection and any questions had.
I rented this apartment for my parents when they came to visit me in Brooklyn. Matt was very accommodating and made for an effortless stay. The apartment was great! It was clean and spacious, with an amazing view of Manhattan. It's also super close to the subway station and made for an easy commute during a cold December weekend. My parents really enjoyed their stay here and would definitely stay here again.
Matt's place was great, it was very spacious and in convenient location. The balcony was nice and upstairs bedroom was cozy. Picking up the keys was easy as well.
But just a few things that hold me back from giving it five stars:
It was cold in the apartment..during this freezing weather in New York, the heat was tricky to alter. Matt was super attentive and replied very fast on the emails, but since he was not here it was hard to figure it out by ourselves. Even after we reset the settings, hot air stops coming out from the vent then cold air blows out, so my mother and I were in layers inside the apartment. Also the water in the shower was not as warm either. The water pressure was very weak, so the shower was like drizzles.
I think it would be perfect to stay here during warmer seasons-but not during winter. I live right around the area and look forward to stay again in the future when I have guests coming over.
It looks like there was a temporary issue with the furnace overheating and shutting down due to a blocked filter. This has now been remedied. The hot water does take a while to feed from the hot water tank, and admittedly its not burning hot. I've had no complaints about the temperature of the hot water before though. I really appreciate Grace's feedback.
Matt's place was great to stay in- clean/newly renovated and in a great location! Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful time staying in the apartment for two weeks while in New York. On arrival everything was well organized and hassle free picking up the key, which was welcomed after 26 hours of travel. It was very homely, clean and after a day of shopping, eating and catching up with friends it felt like coming home. We loved that it was a short walk to the L line (email hidden) which made it easy to get into Manhattan. The local bars and shops provided a local flavor, and Bedford St was only two stops away on the L train for the new hot things to try. It was nice to stay somewhere a little off the usual tourist trail. I would stay again, and have already recommended to friends. Thanks Matt.
Matthew's appartment in Brooklyn is exactly as well as on the photos, very pleasant, convenient (with the large bedroom on the top of the inside stairs and a real terrasse ) and very clean; the area is perfect too, with cafes, shops....etc and the metro direct to Manhattan , at a few stations!
We did not met Matthew but got the keys very conveniently at a shop at the corner, and just had to follow his explanations after.
So we would like to come back, if possible with the calendar, and quite recommand it to anyone wanting to have a nice stay , after a day of strolling in NEW YORK!
