Interaction with Guests
I'm happy to spend time with my guests. It's always a great time meeting new people to love to come to Bali from around the world. I'll help arrange everything from transport to / from the airport, day trips, rafting, biking, hiking or cooking classes.
Nestled in a serene river valley away from the bustle and crowds, but still in the heart of Ubud. Teba Saya is a beautiful little banjar central to all of Ubud's sights, shopping and activities. It's just a super good spot to base your Bali day tripping activities.
Rent a motorbike, or hire a car with our without driver. You can certainly walk and many do. Just 10 minutes on foot to Yoga Barn or Radiantly Alive for yoga, Bali Buda, Jazz Cafe, and Little India for great food and music.
All of central Ubud is available from your doorstep, with none of the bustle and noise of the main roads.
This is a family friendly house and we'd appreciate your understanding of that. Smoking in outdoor areas like the upper balcony and lower courtyard only. If you use the kitchen, kindly clean the kitchen, and respect other guests foods if you're sharing the fridge. Thanks!
In our two nights, we did not meet our host. The location of his place is nondescript in a house tucked away two side streets away from a main road. As a result, I highly recommend that you acquire a driver from him, as this will relieve you from having to figure out where it is. The place was strong value and quite nice. The bed was maybe a little stiff for me, but otherwise comfortable. There are two cats living there, both cute and sweet. Breakfast was solid, not amazing, but definitely better than a typical continental breakfast, as the housekeeper makes it for you. She made omelettes, toast, and had some rice with turmeric, which was delicious. The primary driver, kutuk, was great. Beware, we had a poor experience with the secondary driver, Wayan, he did not show up within 30 min of our requested time to get us back to the airport, forcing us to find other options in the early morning, which is fairly difficult when you're crunched for time. I'll chalk that up to an anomaly though, and it's not entirely within the control of the owner anyway. Overall, we thought the place offered strong value and would go again, but we would also plan further ahead to procure return transportation with kutuk.
Fantastic place. Kevin did a great job with the renovation and is very laid back and helpful, making you feel right at home. I worked on my laptop in the living area/patio, wifi is fine. Located in a quiet corner, it is still very accessible to Ubud main street. Two playful cats running around was definitely a bonus...Highly reccommend.
Kevin went above and beyond to make sure I had a comfortable stay and the girls who work for him are equally great - I'd say the quality of the breakfast and upkeep of the room is comparable to a 4* hotel. Nice outdoor bathroom too! If you're looking for somewhere safe, affordable and welcoming in Ubud, this is a perfect spot.
Our stay was fabulous. Kevin is a great host and does his best to make everyone feel at home. The girls who work for him are very welcoming with a ready smile.
The room was very clean and the bed made up everyday. The bathroom is beautiful with hot water and plants growing all allong the Wall. We have Free access to the kitchen and the girls prépare à great breakfast.
Kadek used to work as a masseuse so if you 're looking for a good massage you can have one in your room!
Internet accès is good but as everywhere in Bali a little tempremental.
To get around Ubud you can hire a scooter for around (phone number hidden) or get a driver. Kevin or kadek can help with this.
Some good places to go :
Walk through Rice fields
Visit to Mask, puppet museum
Walk through Monkey forest
Lots of vegies restaurants.
We had a big problem with our computer and Kevin came to the rescue and fixed it for us ! Many Thanks Kevin , it is still working fine !
The place is really clean.
And, an added extra : They also supply drinking water.
This stay for us is what Airbnb is about , a réal partage with the hosts and other guests :) It is not arriving in a room that is advertised in someones house but is in fact a hôtel where you have to pay for lunch and dinner outside or eat in their own restaurant !
Airport pick up can also be arranged by Kevin which is a great avantage. Its probably cheaper than a taxi and you dont have to wait in line at the airport !
We would definatly go back if We ever go to Ubud again.
Thanks for a great stay !
Gede Lee has a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming space. We organised an airport pick up and were greeted personally. I felt very at home.
The house is slightly outside of the centre of Ubud, there is a lovely river walk or a street walk to the shops. Perfect place and location. Surrounded by lovely nature.
Most defiantly recommend this place.
This was/is a great place to land for my first night on Ubud. Gede wasn't around, but Kevin (the host) was excellent in arranging pickup from the airport, and making sure everything was in place to make my week-long stay here enjoyable.
As I've since discovered, a nice big comfy bed and a hot shower (with good pressure) isn't easy to find in Ubud, but this place has it all. And located just a slight distance from the central hub in Ubud, it's actually in what I feel is the perfect location, as well. AND it's only a 30-second walk to what is so far the best warung (local cafe) I've experienced in Ubud.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and hope to make it back to Alam Raya house again soon!
Gede is very kind, and has a beautiful home in a quiet area. He could easily charge more for this room- very clean, and spacious. He even made me a fruit bowl for breakfast! Highly recommend Alam House- I am sad my travel plans didn't allow me to stay for multiple days at this spot! He also has a spare bike helmet which he generously lent to me so I could tour Ubud via motortaxi.
Stay here, you won't regret it :)
