We love meeting people and hearing about our guests' travels, and we're happy to share our recommendations for favorite local spots. We try to greet each guest upon arrival, but if that's not possible, we'll leave specific instructions. We respect our guests' privacy and are fairly 'hands-off' hosts once guests are settled in.
We live in one of Santa Barbara's oldest neighborhoods, walking distance to public transportation, the best Mexican food in town, and Trader Joe's. Walk to beach, great eats, including the world famous La Super Rica, Telegraph Brewing Company, and local wine tasting. Borrow a bike and hit the Urban Wine Trail in the nearby Funk Zone, or bike to State Street, Santa Barbara's "downtown" with shopping, restaurants, and bars.
Our neighborhood is quiet and family-friendly, comprised of small bungalows mostly built in the 1920's-40's.
Our neighborhood has great accessibility to the best of Santa Barbara. We're walking (or biking) distance to the beach, the Santa Barbara Bowl, downtown/State street, restaurants and shops. The train station is a 5-minute cab ride; public bus stop is one block from our place. We are approximately a 20-minute drive from the SB airport and UCSB.
There's plenty of free, easy street parking - just note street cleaning signs!
No smoking anywhere on property, please.
No check-ins after 10 pm (for special circumstances, please contact us in advance.)
We have an amazing one night stay with Mark and the family. The room was perfect for the two of us and Jen his wife was so lovely and friendly when welcoming us. Would definitely recommend for those stopping through Santa Barbara!
I visit Santa Barbara often and I am so happy to have stumbled upon this adorable casita. The space is so warm, comfortable and inviting. I loved the natural light that streamed in, in the morning and the cool breeze at night. It was also a real treat to have an outdoor space where one could relax. The casita is very conveniently located some great restaurants and just a short drive or bike to downtown SB. I really loved the energy of the space and I would highly recommend it to any visiting Santa Barbara.
Nice, clean, good location, nice welcomed, photos are exactly what you get. Quiet and nice environnement. Fully recommanded
Thank you Mark, Denis and France
The casita was a perfect little spot for my husband and me during a weekend getaway in Santa Barbara. Everything was very clean and nice and cozy. The yard was also really beautiful and peaceful! It's also in a location that makes it easy to walk to many great places - downtown, the funk zone, the beach, and great food! Not only was the actual place great, but Mark and Jen are as well. They are very warm and welcoming and generous - great family! We will be staying here whenever we come back to SB (as long as someone else hasn't snagged it already!)
Great place to stay! Better than a hotel for us. The room was perfect, and the bed was comfy. The hosts even helped us out by lending a tub to give our baby a bath in. The outdoor space is great as well, especially to hang out in the nice weather. Also great: it's only a short 20-minute walk to downtown and the beach!
This was my fifth staying at the Casita. I cannot say enough of this beautiful place and of Mark and Jen, two amazing people who make me feel at home every time I come back. The area is perfect for staying in Santa Barbara, the Casita simply beautiful. Super well maintained, spotless, warm and welcoming. Mark and Jen are truly the perfect hosts.
