Interaction with Guests
We love meeting people and hearing about our guests' travels, and we're happy to share our recommendations for favorite local spots. We try to greet each guest upon arrival, but if that's not possible, we'll leave specific instructions. We respect our guests' privacy and are fairly 'hands-off' hosts once guests are settled in.
We live in one of Santa Barbara's oldest neighborhoods, walking distance to public transportation, the best Mexican food in town, and Trader Joe's. Walk to beach, great eats, including the world famous La Super Rica, Telegraph Brewing Company, and local wine tasting. Borrow a bike and hit the Urban Wine Trail in the nearby Funk Zone, or bike to State Street, Santa Barbara's "downtown" with shopping, restaurants, and bars.
Our neighborhood is quiet and family-friendly, comprised of small bungalows mostly built in the 1920's-40's.
Our neighborhood has great accessibility to the best of Santa Barbara. We're walking (or biking) distance to the beach, the Santa Barbara Bowl, downtown/State street, restaurants and shops. The train station is a 5-minute cab ride; public bus stop is one block from our place. We are approximately a 20-minute drive from the SB airport and UCSB.
There's plenty of free, easy street parking - just note street cleaning signs!
No smoking anywhere on property, please.
No check-ins after 10 pm (for special circumstances, please contact us in advance.)
Mark and Jen greeted us warmly and helped make our stay more rewarding. The "Cozy Casita" lived up to its description and was neat, clean and comfortable located in a central older neighborhood close to many great spots to eat (their recommendations are excellent). They seem to be a wonderful family!
Cozy Casita was exactly as described and our host were friendly and welcoming.
My fiance and I were visiting SB for a few days . Mark and Jen's place was in the perfect location. They were both very warm and friendly.
Mark & Jen were amazing hosts!
Arrived to beautiful Santa Barbara, shortly after ran into some friends and started the socializing and wine tasting. I called Jen to let them know we were unable to check in at the requested time and she made accommodations for us to show up when we were able to. The locations is really easy to get to, cute and safe neighborhood. The next morning we made some coffee and enjoyed their beautiful backyard they have probably the biggest avocado tree I've ever seen! Mark arrived and we chatted for a bit, then his wife Jen joined us and even their adorable twins, what a sweet family they are! totally made us feel welcomed. As we were getting ready to leave they left a bag of avocados for us! Yum! :) I hope we get to see them again maybe even in our home town for a beer! really enjoyed talking to them. Sweet people, sweet spot, sweet deal!!
Mark and his wife were there to greet us when we arrived from Carmel. The place very neat a clean stocked with great books and information. Only regret was that the avocado tree was not ripe enough to pick. I would stay there any time and enjoy wonderful Santa Barbara.
Great location, Great Casita, Great hosts. Celebrated our 10 year anniversary and had a wonderful time. The House is close to the beach, wine tasting and Trader Joes. The room was conformable and had everything we needed. We'd love to stay again.
