Interaction with Guests
We love meeting people and hearing about our guests' travels, and we're happy to share our recommendations for favorite local spots. We try to greet each guest upon arrival, but if that's not possible, we'll leave specific instructions. We respect our guests' privacy and are fairly 'hands-off' hosts once guests are settled in.
We live in one of Santa Barbara's oldest neighborhoods, walking distance to public transportation, the best Mexican food in town, and Trader Joe's. Walk to beach, great eats, including the world famous La Super Rica, Telegraph Brewing Company, and local wine tasting. Borrow a bike and hit the Urban Wine Trail in the nearby Funk Zone, or bike to State Street, Santa Barbara's "downtown" with shopping, restaurants, and bars.
Our neighborhood is quiet and family-friendly, comprised of small bungalows mostly built in the 1920's-40's.
Our neighborhood has great accessibility to the best of Santa Barbara. We're walking (or biking) distance to the beach, the Santa Barbara Bowl, downtown/State street, restaurants and shops. The train station is a 5-minute cab ride; public bus stop is one block from our place. We are approximately a 20-minute drive from the SB airport and UCSB.
There's plenty of free, easy street parking - just note street cleaning signs!
No smoking anywhere on property, please.
No check-ins after 10 pm (for special circumstances, please contact us in advance.)
This casita was beyond charming! My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick day trip and decided to stay the evening in SB. We are so glad we stayed here! Mark welcomed us, and he and his family had a terrific list of places to check out in the neighborhood. They were very accommodating! The casita itself was lovely with so many wonderful books, a comfy bed, and much more. Do yourself a favor and stay here...preferably for more than one night!
Mark and Jen were great hosts to us, very helpfull and welcoming, on where to have dinner, when one of their bikes were broke Mark quickly arranged another bike. The Casita is super! If you visit Santa Barbara we definitely recommend to stay with Mark & Jen.
This was my first time using Airbnb and it was well worth it. Next time I'm in Santa Barbara this will be the first place on my list to stay. As a college student, fancy hotels (especially in SB) aren't an option, but this place was super affordable and in a great location. The room was clean, beautiful, simple, with the added bonus of two beach cruisers for guests to use. Besides the rad room, the family was able to give us great recommendations of where to eat and explore. To wrap things up; if you're on a budget and are looking for a small, but nice place to stay in a central location, this is the place to go!
Mark and jen were the perfect hosts. We really enjoyed staying with them. They had two beach cruisers we could use. We had lots of fun driving around and taking a closer look on santa barbara. The casita was wonderful. It was clean and really cozy. Thank you guys!
Mark and Jen were very friendly and welcoming, great information on where to eat :)
Definitely go to "the shop" for breakfast, it is AMAZING!!
The room was super clean and comfortable and equipped with everything you need including tourist information and bikes which unfortunately we didn't get to use. Our stay definitely wasn't long enough to experience Santa Barbara properly but Mark and Jen were superb hosts.
Casita was a perfect place to stay in Santa Barbara! It was private, quaint, and cozy. We would definitely stay here again in the future!! Thank you to our hosts!
