gorgeous country french apt just two blocks from subway and two blocks from Promenade.
Charming apartment. Original 1880 details. 12 foot ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, working fireplace, washer dryer, dishwasher, feminine, airy, incredible. Brand new kitchen and bathroom. On top of excellent subways. Two blocks from the Promenade. Exposed brick. Full size new mattress. Quiet. Ground floor so no traipsing up steps with bags after shopping! Perfect for a visit to NYC
In this apartment you will find a full kitchen, with All Clad etc and Wusthof etc. We have good sheets and nice towels, many from Italy. We have a turntable and vinyl that we will let you use, and we have french windows and the sound of birds. Wooden shutters keep the light out if you need some shut eye; this is an old school house. You are steps from the Plymouth Church and the grocery store is a block away. You can be crossing the Brooklyn Bridge on foot in five minutes if that is your thing, and to Atlantic Avenue for excellent shopping-Barneys, Sahadis, dinner at Colonie--all a short stroll from this apartment. Brooklyn Heights is one of the most beautiful, as in eye candy, neighborhoods in NYC, so come and drink it in. The quiet is almost country-like. The building is small and friendly but not intrusive so you can come and go and have your time but there is a neighbor next door who will answer your questions about the whys and wherefores.
There is a nail salon, as this is NYC, around the corner of course. In addition, there is superb Italian from a remote island you have perhaps never heard of adjacent to Napoli, at Noodle Pudding. The mixologists at Jack the Horse, if you like a cocktail, is beyond and a block away. Come relax and enjoy our charming, easy to live in, and dreamy abode.
The apartment is 2 blocks from major subway lines and only one block to Manhattan.
Interaction with Guests
as often as needed
it is simply the best of NYC
2 blocks away and the bklyn bridge is a 6 minute walk!
Other Things to Note
As AIR BNB is under fire in NYC, guests must be willing to be quiet and cool and unobtrusive.
No smoking--but as we are on the ground floor, you can just walk outside (or jump out the window if you are in good shape) with ease. No pets as we are allergic. Quiet after 10:30pm. Please leave the place recognizable. Run the dishwasher if you use it. Rinse the tub. Take out the garbage and recycling. Lock the shutters whenever you are not in the apartment. That's it.
Very nice experience. I hope Barb and I can do this again. We flew in from Minneapolis to surprise our friend (chef/owner of Jack the Horse restaurant) on his birthday. The restaurant is just around the corner from Tracy. The location is fantastic and the apartment is beautiful. Subway within 2 blocks on Henry St, Armando's Italian restaurant about 5 blocks away on Montague St. was our favorite mid afternoon spot. After closing Jack the Horse every night it was fun to have home so close and comfortable, thanks Tracy.
Enjoyed the High Line in the Chelsea district 1.5 miles end to end. Recommend the Brooklyn Museum "Killer Heels" exhibit. Went to see Billy Joel's collection of motorcycles in Long Island. Planted flowers at JtH. Drove up to Storm King Art Center. Walked the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. Visited Twin Towers water fall/pools.
You get the idea, lots of things to do, and the wifi was very helpful.
Had a perfect 2-day stay at Tracy's exquisite apartment in Brooklyn Heights. It was exactly as advertised: clean, quiet and beautifully furnished with amazing french windows looking onto the street--I felt like I was staying in a Parisian flat! Tracy was responsive and welcoming, and the location is perfect for exploring the best neighborhoods of Brooklyn-- a short walk to DUMBO, the promenade, and cobble/boerum hill. Will hopefully stay again during future trips!
I came to explore NY for a few days and had the best time!! Tracy was very knowledgeable and was super helpful with a must see list of things to do in the city. It was wonderful to "come home" at the end of the day. The apartment is as beautiful and cozy as it looks in the photos. Just look at all the natural light, beautiful books, cozy couch, and cool breeze from the fan in the NY summer was delicious!
I was able to find the place with (website hidden) maps and found it suprisingly easy to get around using the metro (A, C, 3,4) .
Tracy's communication skills are superb. This was my first airbnb experience. I was a little nervous about it all but everything about this process was smooth and transparent. Would very much recommend!!
Tracy's apartment was beautiful! It's spacious, homey, and well-decorated. She was very responsive via text and e-mail about minor questions we had during our stay, and was very friendly. We had a pleasant and comfortable stay and will be in contact again for future stays.
What a lovely place! It was a charming apartment in an amazing neighborhood. You have easy access to loads of restaurants and bars as well as the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Amazing views of Manhattan just blocks away. This place also has AC! Which was so helpful as it got quite warm. Anyone looking for a cool place to stay should come here. Tracy was so responsive via e-mail and I felt totally at home and comfortable. Thanks Tracy!! Hope to come stay again.
Great apartment and great host. Love the windows and the street scene - quiet and private yet feel connected to the beautiful neighborhood outside. Apartment is charming and very comfortable. Will recommend it to any friends who need a place to stay in Brooklyn Heights.
A very beautiful ground floor apartment, well located to groceries, wine, a movie theatre, restaurants and more. Brooklyn Bridge park (views) and bridge is nearby. Also very nearby is the East River Ferry, which is a great option for heading to other destinations in Brooklyn such as Williamsburg, and even across the river into Manhattan, where the free shuttle bus takes you to midtown. Two subway lines are also only a minute away. It was one subway stop into the city, and was more convenient than places we've stayed right in the East Village for getting around.
There is a part of the Brooklyn Flea; the Smorgasburg in DUMBO on Sundays - really there was so much to do in the area. We also went to the restaurant Noodle Pudding on our host's recommendation and were not disappointed. This is a fun, affordable, family friendly restaurant with really satisfying food and well priced wine. I wish I'd gone there again, instead of a more disappointing place in Williamsburg.
The area is very quiet - no noise at all. I didn't use the air con and had no trouble sleeping.
Tracy has great taste and usually I don't care much what a place is like as long as it's clean and well located, but it was a real treat to come home to this apartment. Every detail was perfect, right down to the toilet seat! If you have any interest in design, you will appreciate this place.
