We never met Annalisa, but she was kind enough to arrange transport for us from the airport and was very flexible about our early arrival. Her daughter met us and let us in. The apartment was perfect for us: the location is great (not too close to the very touristy parts of Travestere), near to wonderful food, markets, and easily reachable by the tram and bus lines. Annalisa has helpful instructions on how to use her appliances, lists of good restaurant choices, and there was even a bottle of wine there to welcome us.
The apartment itself was clean and minimalist in a good way: the closets are empty and ready to accommodate your things, and there is not a lot of stuff to move out of the way. The furniture is comfortable and stylish. The kitchen is well-appointed with all of the basics. Although we did not use it much (in February), the terrace is cute and has a beautiful view at sunset.
The only drawback we encountered, although it is not really in her control, was that there was work going on in the building every weekday from the early morning until 5 at night. There was a lot of noise from hammering from a nearby apartment. I would check with her to see if the work has been completed if noise would be bothersome to you.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay there. Even our neighbors were friendly!
Annalisa and her daughter were fantastic hosts and the apartment was perfect. Everything was clean and there were very helpful notes for the house and the immediate area. The location of the apartment was superb, right on the tip of all the great restaurants in Trastevere and everything within walking distance. Through no fault of their own, there was a minor problem with the internet, however Annalisa and her daughter responded very quickly and solved it as soon as possible. Overall great experience and highly recommended.
Great location, nicely away from the mayhem of the more touristed areas. Walking distance to Testaccio, Campo de Fiori, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. It's not near a Metro so using taxis is really the only option at night. They are cheap and quick. A couple of negatives:the sliding door to the patio needs attention. It's old, heavy and on the last day, I tried opening it but gave up as I thought if it opened, it would never close. We ate in and the induction cooktop made cooking interesting. We cooked salmon fillets in a saucepan because the frying pans didn't conduct heat. Just made do but cooking for more than 2 wouldn't be advisable. Lock to the front door was also very temperamental. Great spot though.
Hi Linda, thanks for the review. Just a small clarification: the sliding door on the patio was working before your arrival... but when I returned to the apartment after your check out I found it stuck.... Anyway, I have already called someone to fix it. As for the induction cooktop, I left instructions for correct use on the cabinet in the kitchen, and right above the cooktop there was the special iron plate to be used with the 2 frying pans (the other pans don't need it). All other guests have used the 4 induction plates before, without problems. I'm sorry you were not familiar with them! Thanks again for being my guests, all the best!
LOVELY place! From the wonderful view over the Aventino to the nice furniture. Apartment is modern, nicely furnished and Annalisa took care of every single detail. Fully recommended.
Wonderful place, beautiful view and comfortable layout. Lovely apartment for exploring the Eternal City. I liked everything.
Nice to meet you!
