Nice staying in a great appartment with a terrace and really close to central station. Everything was clean at our arrival and Mercedes was very hospitable.
Very nice place, close to the center. Mercedes is a good host. I recommend the place for couples who want to visit Amsterdam.
Some colleagues and I stayed at Mercede's place while working in Amsterdam recently. Not only was the apartment perfect for our needs, but Mercedes was an amazing host - relaxed, informative and helpful.
A great place to stay with. Staircase might be abit small for my family to climb while taking luggage... But overall is fine...

Mercedes is a warm, welcoming wonderful host, very helpful with advice on where to go & what to see.
Convenient location as easy to walk everywhere or close to transport.
Comfortable rooms, nice to have kitchen and terrace to sit out & eat at.
I would stay there again.
The apartment is fantastic, well situated, and clean and tidy. Mercedes was away on her own holiday during our stay, but she arranged for her lovely friend to check us in and take care of us.
There was a variety of cereals, breads, tea, and coffee for us in the kitchen.
I would stay here again.
This description from a previous reviewer are worth noting:
"- It is not an apartment but 2 floors (2nd and 3rd floor) in a big house.
In the House on the ground floor there are the rooms used by Mrs. Mercedes, on the 1st floor there are two bedrooms and a bathroom rented as B&B, and the 2nd and 3rd floor are referred to as flat (2 bethrooms Appartment MAGNOLIA ).
- The 2 rooms on the 2nd floor, and also the bathroom did not have the key (it is unusual)
- About the 3rd floor : there is very uncomfortable accessed to go in the attic.
P.S. In Oland the steps in the house are very short and steep, to maximize the space"
Mercedes was a great host and her flat is fantastic. She was there to greet us and left the makings of a great breakfast in the kithchen. My wife and I and our two kids were very comfortable for our five night stay. The flat is close to the metro and a nice supermarket. One block up from the metro stop is a street with a wonderful Indian restaurant. A ten minute bus/metro/tram ride and you are right in the middle of Amsterdam. I recommend staying here when you are in Amsterdam.
My family and I stayed at Mercedes' place for 3 nights and Mercedes is great. She was very helpful when we first got there and were trying to find our way around the city. We were about a 10 minute walk from a train station from which we could get anywhere in the city. The place was clean and mostly as described but there are a few things to be aware of before booking. It is important to know that you are NOT renting an entire apartment, which is how it was described. It is a little more separate than just renting a room in a house, because you have your own bathroom and shower and a small kitchen area, however you do not have your own entrance. Our kitchen, bathroom, and one of the bedrooms was up two flights of stairs, with other rooms that she either uses or rents out on the lower two floors. Also, our second bedroom was in a converted attic, which was a nice bedroom, but we had to climb a ladder to get to it. It would not be an easy feat to carry luggage or anything more than a set of clothes up or down the ladder. These things are not necessarily a reason to not book the rooms, but you should know exactly what you're getting before booking. Overall we had a good experience.
