Johnnie's home was great. It was incredibly clean and had a warm, comfortable environment. Johnnie was very helpful throughout the process, beginning with his initial quick response to my request to rent his home. He made contact upon our arrival as well as throughout the week to ensure our stay was pleasant. The neighborhood was quiet and was in a convenient location. The property manager, Rashida, was also very helpful and friendly. She welcomed us warmly and was available as needed throughout our stay.
I would definitely recommend staying at Johnnie's home and will absolutely stay there again.
Johnnies townhouse is as advertised. It is nicely located, near the zoo, City place and an easy drive to nearby areas. The gated community itself is very quiet and the residents friendly.
Having said that we did encounter what is best described as an "odd" experience. While jonnie does not normally accept pets he mad made an exception for my to small dogs ( a havenese 12 # and a 6# Yorkey). When we arrived it was quite apparent that the gal who is the property manager was not only taken aback but extremely afraid of the dogs. We were told the rules of the house some of which made us feel as though we were in high school. Take out the trash every day , wash the dishes every day, no shoes etc.. We figured they had just had some bad experiences and let it go.
It got odd when the manager wanted to check out the condo 2 days prior to our departure. I travel a lot and have for years and this was a first for me . I assumed she was going to be busy when we left but she came to check us out again. She asked about a small spot in one of the bedrooms which I don't believe was made by either dog. There was a spot by the door when we arrived as well as several other ones throughout the house. The carpet was by no means pristine. After we had been gone a few minutes she called to say that the dining room table was scratched ( she had already looked at it) and wanted to know if we let the dogs walk on it. Quite frankly I was insulted. My husband owns a kennel and we work with animals daily. In fact we tried to be the perfect guests as to encourage rentals to pets. For example we washed down the patio, cleaned the sliding glass door ( it was filthy), changed the bag in the vacuum so we could clean, cleaned out the ice machine several times as it kept freezing up and other general maintenance items. There was no mop or dustpan when we arrived although when we asked we received an old fashioned wringer mop with no wringer.
I don't mean to sound so pickey or cranky but I honestly don't know how we could have been better guests. In retrospect I think the only reason that we had the experience we did was because of the managers feelings regarding pets.
I will not feel comfortable using airbnb in the future
I want to thank you again for your business and in choosing my home. I do want to apologize about the phone call, the "odd" experience that you mentioned. I must say I was quite taken aback by your review. Especially when you expressed to Rashida, the "gal" you referred to in the review, that I charged much too low for my home. I also would like to add that on the many occasions that we corresponded, you expressed that you were having an enjoyable time and never mentioned any complaints. The pre-checkout walk through is standard for guests that stay longer than 3 weeks. We like to be prepared especially when we have guests back to back. I do hope that you will continue to use Airbnb in the future as it is such a great tool. As you are well aware, this is the first negative review I have ever received and I will use it as an opportunity to make improvements. I always want ensure my guests will enjoy my home and look forward to returning. All the best to you and your family.
Listing was very accurate. Nice, clean place in great neighborhood. Property manager was very accommodating by meeting us even though we had a late arrival. Would recommend!
A terrific location with plenty of room for a family of four. Spotless upon check-in, a lovely gated community. Rashida (sp?) was our host, was very sweet and helpful. Fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities. A find, especially for the price.
We had a great three day stay in Johnnie's townhouse! Johnnie responded almost immediately to my reservation request and checked in via email on our second day.
We interacted mostly with Rashida, the property manager, who was SO helpful. They have a rule about guests adjusting the thermostat, so she made a trip to the house to help us out after my parents had mentioned that they were too warm.
The house was in perfect condition and very tidy. Thanks!
Johnnie was quick to respond to our request to rent his townhouse which was important for booking our flight tickets. We communicated at the key moments and Rashida was super nice in welcoming us into the townhouse and making us feel at home. The townhouse is really a great home away from home. Super quiet at nighttime. Will book again with Johnnie if it is available at the time we go to Florida again and will recommend it to John's brothers for their visits.
