This beautiful farmhouse was built in 1672. It is a fine and little altered unique example of an Island yeoman farmer's house standing alone in its own grounds.

The space
Little Mersley Farmhouse is located on the Garlic Farm nestled at the foot of Mersley Down in the Arreton Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Following a sensitive renovation, it is now available as our largest most well appointed cottage. The property sleeps up to 10 in 2 double ensuite rooms and 3 twin rooms. It works very well for families with a mixture of adults and children. Guests enjoy discounts in our onsite restaurant and farm shop which serves breakfast and lunch every day as well as access to the wood fired hot tub (£100 extra, exclusive to the property), games room, tennis court, football pitch and open access to all the beautiful surrounding land. Chickens, peacocks and red squirrels roam freely around the farm with highland cattle and horses in the surrounding fields.

The farm is ideally located for exploring the Island, lying at the hub of miles of footpaths and cycle ways for which the Island is famous with beaches no more than 10 minutes away by car.

Ground floor:
Spacious downstairs master bedroom with en suite toilet and shower. Accessible for those who find stairs difficult. The room is furnished with a romantic brass bed and tasteful chest of drawers and wardrobe. The sitting room benefits from a wood burning stove bringing warmth and atmosphere. The dining room is off the well-equipped galley kitchen with separate cloakroom/utility room and toilet.
First floor:
Double bedroom with ensuite shower and toilet. Twin bedded room and separate bathroom with bath tub.
Second floor:
Two twin bedded rooms in the eaves of the house.
Outdoor:
Large fenced garden with garden furniture, gas barbecue and wood fired hot tub (£100 booking extra. Freshly filled on arrival and all logs, kindling and firelighters provided.)

Guest access
Hot tub (booking extra £100), Tennis court, football pitch, Garlic Farm Shop & Restaurant, gorgeous farm walks, fishing by arrangement.

Location

Newchurch, United Kingdom

A ridge of chalk downs extends across the centre of the Isle of Wight from east to west. Drive over the top of Mersley Down as you approach the village of Newchurch and you will see Mersley Farm nestling in its sheltered position 300 ft below. Surrounded by unspoilt scenery and ½ a mile from a main road, it is the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday, yet the nearest beach is no more than 10 minutes drive away. Mersley looks over the valley of Newchurch, and the rolling Island countryside towards Godshill and the south of the Island. The Farm is one mile north of the village of Newchurch with it's prominent and interesting 11th Century Church and 18th Century Pub (The Pointer Inn), now serving excellent meals. We also now have a licensed restaurant on the farm serving delicious lunches by our acclaimed chef, Charlie. Shopping areas are not far away as we are 4 miles from the main Island towns of Newport and Ryde.

I grew up on the farm and now feel very lucky to be part of the family business with my parents and siblings working in a unique and beautiful environment. When not working: Looking after my young family, surfing, playing gypsy jazz, running, meditating, playing tennis.
