Simple, comfortable, & clean space for two in a private room with shared bathroom, located a 20- min walk from Zilker Park, 6th St., or S. Congress. Free parking; airport pickup & public transit nearby. All in the lovely Bouldin Creek neighborhood.
This is a lovely little 9' x 10' (2.7m x 3m) room in a four bedroom apartment. Room is furnished with a queen-sized bed (60" x 80"; 152 cm x 203 cm). If you're a bit of a clotheshorse, there's also a walk-in closet in the room. It is somewhat cozy, but should do the trick for most travelers, especially if you love a great location.
Hide-a-bed in living room available upon request for an additional charge.
Full-function kitchen (4-burner stove, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer), small dining room (seats 4-6), living room with TV, washer and dryer, and a small balcony.
Interaction with Guests
You may see as as little or as much of the hosts as you like. The three of us (a professional chef, a tech analyst, and an attorney) are generally around, but it won't hurt our feelings if you're a bit of an introvert!
Walk to the wonderful taquerias on S. 1st St. (La Mexicana bakery is the best!), explore the boutiques of South Congress, or jog along the hike & bike trail--all mere minutes away from this fabulous location!
We are directly across the street from the No. 10 bus, which takes you within one block of the free F1 USGP shuttle to the Circuit of the Americas.
It is 0.9 miles (1.5km) to the Convention Center, 1.1 miles (1.8km) to 6th & Congress, and 0.6 miles (1km) to Auditorium Shores. Everything is an easy walk, bike, bus, cab, or Car2Go ride away!
We are also 100 meters from the No. 10 bus, which runs directly through the heart of Downtown and up to the University.
Other Things to Note
Parking here is first-come-first-served, and is free. During major events (ACL, SXSW, Fun Fun Fun Fest), we are limited to one guest pass. The rest of the year, it is free and clear.
We expect guests to treat the place like their own. Come and go as you please, and have a great time!
room is really nice.
first, I could save my money.
second, L.J. is very kind.
and location is really good. very close to downtown and 6th street.
Me and my friend had a very good time staying at L.J apartment. Perfect location, close to downtown and super close to nearest bus stop. Sharing the apartment with the other roommates was no problem, all of them were super friendly. L.J helped us a lot and even drove us when we needed a ride. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
After our original accommodations fell through, LJ kindly accepted our booking on short notice. He was a very friendly host, and as a life long Texan he has a lot of local knowledge that made him very interesting to speak with. He even took our interests in mind to offer thoughtful recommendations of places to make our trip even better. As far as the apartment itself, I personally felt everything could have been a bit cleaner considering the price we paid, but this may have been due to the holidays and to the short notice we gave. The apartment is in a great location that was close to everything, parking was easy, and Austin is a wonderful place to visit!
I had a great experience staying with LJ! He and his roommates were warm and welcoming, the room was exactly as described, and the location was perfect for accessing downtown and the Hyatt, where I was attending a conference, was a short 5 min walk away. As a girl I can admit I was hesitant about staying with all men, but upon meeting everyone I realized I had nothing to worry about. Couldn't have been more comfortable or felt more at home. They also didn't mind me coming in late and leaving early, which I tried to do quietly! Cannot say enough about this place. Would stay there again if I get the chance. Clean, comfortable, and friendly!
I felt very welcome and well taken care of staying at LJ's. The process and communication was easy and fast, and the room was clean, classy, and well-stocked with clean towels and classic VHS tapes ;-).
LJ and roommates are quite friendly, smart, and great guys to know.
This place was very clean and a great location. The host was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
Great place and host. Great location, located down the street from some really good BBQ and tacos!

I live and work in Austin, Texas. I adore travel, and am most happy visiting new places and meeting the interesting people unique to each locale. I most particularly love trying new food in each place I visit--nothing too crazy or dangerous, but plenty that I've never heard of or seen before!
I have stayed in everything from $5 dorm hostels in Panama to 150 year-old B&Bs in England to five-star hotels across the United States, and have enjoyed the experiences in all of them (although for very different reasons!).
This is my philosophy for travel: wherever I find myself, with whatever accommodation and in whatever condition, enjoy the privilege of being a guest in a foreign place, and never take it for granted.
