We had a few issues with this stay. Firstly after being checked in by Gerta we realised the room we were staying in was not the one we had booked and paid for online and there and been no effort to let us know this. We wouldn't have minded if we had been told once we arrived. The main problem with this new room was that the bed was actually two single bases put together with the most uncomfortable mattress put on top.
Secondly the shower in the shared bathroom upstairs had no way to attach the head to the wall, so you had to stand in a cold bathtub and hold the shower head against yourself while fumbling with washing hair etc. we asked her if there was a way to attach it to the wall so we could have a normal shower and she said she's tried everything but it keeps breaking, which we didn't find a good enough excuse really.
Lastly some friends of Gerta's came over on Christmas Day which was fine, except despite her "no smoking" policy listed they were all smoking indoors and the smell reached up to our room on the next floor and stayed there until the next day, despite opening windows etc
The general cleanliness of the house also wasn't great, everything needed a vacuum and a wipe in the shared areas.
Apart from that, it was a pretty quiet and easy neighbourhood, with easy public transport access into town.
