Enjoy one of the most unique & eclectic neighborhoods of Boston. This beautiful two-floor apartment is perfectly located -- just a short walk to the 15-minute subway ride into downtown Boston. You'll also love the restaurants, pubs and shops nearby!

The Space

We're located across the street from a big park and down the street from public tennis courts (we have rackets for you!) There is a beautiful pond and scenic Arboretum just a few minutes walk away.

Our apartment has all the amenities you need (you're welcome to use our juicer and French press!). We have one master bedroom with a queen-size bed and a smaller room with a twin bed. Work from upstairs in the office / art studio and take a break on the roof deck. There is a large backyard and a driveway if you bring your car.

We know you'll enjoy it here as much as we do!

The Neighborhood

As described by the City of Boston:

"Jamaica Plain, or 'JP' as the locals call it, is a classic 'streetcar suburb' that has evolved into one of Boston's most diverse and dynamic neighborhoods. The ethnically diverse area is home to many Latinos, young families, and a growing gay and lesbian community. Hyde and Jackson Squares have significant Spanish-speaking populations. This blend of cultures is reflected in local businesses, such as the many different restaurants which line Centre Street, one of its main thoroughfares. Residents and visitors enjoy walking, biking, and running along Jamaica Pond situated on the Jamaicaway, part of Boston's Emerald Necklace."

Getting around

A 7-10 minute walk to the nearest subway station and just a 15 minute ride into the heart of downtown Boston. Just a three minute walk from the main bus line into town.

  • It was a great stay with Shannon and Ross in JP! After a friendly welcome i walked the next morning towards south street because i heard there was a good record store. It is! Deep Thoughts. I walked the beautiful Arboretum and decided to get me a hybride bike at Ferris' Wheels on the way back! Its $40 for the first two days and $20 for every extra day. Great place.
For the soccergames of the World Cup i drove to Brendan Behan Pub and had lovely company there! I love JP and love Shannon and Ross' way of life and trying to work on a more equal and sustainable world!

  • The hosts were wonderful. Shannon kept in touch regarding my plans, etc. I was in town to help my daughter move, so I didn't see much of my room which is definitely small, so make sure to pack light. Shannon and Ross were warm and welcoming and their home is very pretty. This is where I hope to be able to stay whenever I come to Boston to visit my daughter.

  • What wonderful and friendly hosts! The location is wonderful in the middle of JP and close to the orange line. The room itself is cozy, small with a window. This is a great spot if you're looking for a central location to stay in JP

  • It was my first Airbnb and was a great experience.
Shannon and her boyfriend are really nice hosts, made me feel like i was at home and seemed that we knew eachother for a long time.
I was just looking for a quiet place to stay and they have it. It's a very cozy room, clean and enough for a good relaxed sleep.

I would definitely recommend Shannon as a host and this room.

Hi, I'm an entrepreneur living in Boston. I try to take advantage of my location independence by traveling as much as I can. I graduated from the University of Florida in 2008, bartended my way around the world for two post-grad years, and co-founded a sustainable clothing company in 2010. Now I'm a consultant in the sustainable apparel industry and (somewhat) less nomadic. I love meeting travelers and exchanging stories, and look forward to (hopefully) meeting you!
