The Cottage is nestled in Olympia’s Eastside neighborhood, a short walk from downtown. The Bungalow shares a small urban site with another small guest house. Both use space efficient and eco-friendly design principles. The Cottage features local wood products and local craftsmanship to enhance the warmth and sense of place. Parking is on the street and access to the cottage includes an uphill stroll on a reclaimed driveway, lush in native vegetation. Two birch trees mark your entrance.
The landscape is filled with native plants, fruits, berries and herbs. And of course, bamboo. Although this little home away from home is only 500 square feet, the design heightens the sense of warmth in this cozy, comfortable space.
The Bungalow comfortably accommodates 2 guests with:
One bedroom - with a queen bed
One bathroom with a unique slate and pebble shower
Dining area with a well equipped kitchen with an electric range
Earth-friendly cleaning practices
CD player with a collection of CDs
Collection of books, games and puzzles
Towels, soap, hair dryer, iron and ironing board
Covered patio with outdoor seating in small fenced yard
Fully furnished with your comfort and convenience in mind
Comfortable accommodations for two, good bed. Location was convenient and walkable to Olympia downtown.
Loved this cute cottage! Quite comfy: bed was amazing, nice sized kitchen with plenty of walk around space, I really enjoyed my time at Ellen's place. My son lives and school's in Olympia so I'll be returning. Possibly the next time in the larger home. Highly recommend.
I had a very nice stay at Ellen's delightful little cottage. The place was clean, well designed and tastefully decorated. I especially liked the bench in the shower stall as I am 6'4" and didn't have to bend to get under the shower head! Ellen was very friendly and ready to help out if needed. I would stay here again.
We had such a great time at Ellen's place. Was easy to enter and just as easy to leave. The place was an adorable 1 bedroom, we wished we could have stayed longer, as it felt like we were already home. Very clean, tidy and comfy. The neighborhood was cute.
Ellen's property is absolutely the best place to stay in Olympia. The Cottage is cozy and warm, private and luxurious. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking tools one could possibly need to be self sufficient. It's also walking distance to downtown Olympia when you're ready to play. This is my third time renting the Cottage and every time Ellen has completed more improvements - this time was a new, well-lit stone walkway to the house. I am grateful to have such a comfortable place to stay in Oly that I never have to use a hotel again!
I had to make a stop into Olympia for business. The cottage was a great place for the stay. Great value for a comfortable and well appointed unit.
The cottage was the perfect little oasis for us to stopover on our way through Olympia. Everything was just as described, and the house was even a little more spacious than we'd imagined. Places like this are why I love airbnb.
We had a great stay here. Ellen was very accommodating of our late arrival, and provided very clear instructions for finding the cottage. The cottage is cozy and covered with nice little craftsman features, and the kitchen (as mentioned in previous reviews) was lovely. The shower had plenty of hot water, and Ellen provided soaps and shampoos. We were very impressed and would definitely stay in the cottage again!
I planned a very last minute trip to Olympia to attend a weekend workshop and was browsin airbnb to find a place to stay. I seriously lucked out to land at Ellen's place. It was cozy and adorable, quiet, and conveniently located. I ended up staying an extra night just so I could relax there a bit. The booking process was simple and smooth. All in all a great stay!
Fantastic place. Charming and comfortable, beautifully thought-out and maintained.
