About this listing
This is a truely French elegant apartment, located on the fabulous and historical Ile Saint Louis, in a 17th century building.
This was our first Airbnb experience, and everything about it was perfect. The instructions were detailed and exact, the apartment rep was helpful and prompt, meeting us at the apartment when we arrived. It was exactly as advertised: a beautiful, quiet apartment on the Ile St Louis. The picture displays it perfectly. It was ideal for two people, with a comfortable bed, couch, living room, and kitchen and bar, and a classic French feel, with beautiful windows that open on one side onto the main street, and onto a courtyard from the back of the apartment. The owners had left the essentials for us; dishwashing liquid, bath supplies and toiletries, and the apartment rep answered phone calls and emails with questions immediately. We are very familiar with the Ile St. Louis, staying there every year on our trip to Paris, but have always chosen a hotel. This apartment offers more space with all of the amenities--including a number for a taxi service back to the airport. The Ile St Louis is the perfect spot for exploring Paris--right in the center of the city while being quiet with a neighborhood feel, full of neighborhood shops and restaurants, and everything you could possibly need. We look forward to returning next year on our trip to Paris, and can't imagine staying anywhere else.
Being Parisian but leaving abroad I wanted to find a place for a few days in the heart of Paris and I was not disappointed. The apartment is wonderful. It looks exactly like the pictures. It's in a quieter part of the island yet minutes away from everything. It's on the 3rd floor and getting a lot of light. Regis and Jessica were very helpful, very responsive and worked hard to help with a late check-out.
Bonjour! Our stay at FRENCH CLASSIC was perfect! Excellent service and communication with Regis, Jessica, and Pauline took all of the guesswork out of our first-time travel to France. They always confirmed plans and any changes, and were readily available both before and during our stay. And even though we don't expect everyone everywhere to speak English, it helped a lot in the planning process that they did. Thank you Regis & Co.!
Our taste in decor usually runs contemporary, but for our first trip to Paris we wanted something "classic" and this was certainly it!
For those who may have read in an earlier review about carpeting in the apartment, you should know that the floor is now entirely wood--which we like so much better for many reasons. The bed (new!) was super comfy. Fresh white linens and a big cozy comforter made for perfect sleep. It is a quiet neighborhood, so we slept well every night. During the day you'll hear the little children playing in the courtyard of their school, which was lovely! You really feel like you live here the moment you arrive...at least I pretended I did. ;-) Oh--and don't worry about the 4 flights of stairs. Yes I had to rest before that last flight up, but trust me it is worth it! We loved opening the huge windows and looking up the cobblestone street.
French Classic is really close-by to everything you could want during your stay...cafes for morning coffee and light eating, meat shops, bakeries, lovely shops and excellent restaurants... We ventured out of the neighborhood because we wanted to see as much of Paris as we could, but you could seriously stay a week in Il St. Louis and have a fabulous time! The apartment and neighborhood are simply beyond charming.
Our flight arrived in the morning, and they were able to accommodate early check-in. Very good of them! (Request this the day before--no promises, we just got lucky.) We were met with a bottle of wine and a charming host who gave us our key, codes for getting in and out of the building, and general info about the apartment. The toiletries they have are lovely (small bottles, but enough for our 5 night stay. You might want to bring a bar of soap--or better yet, pick up a bar of French soap at a local shop. PLENTY of hot water and glorious water pressure!
They arranged for a car service to and from the airport. (Well worth the 60-something euros each way. You pay the car service the fare, not Airbnb). Our flight home was late afternoon, and they generously let us leave out bags at their place so we could explore, eat and enjoy our last beverage in Paris! (A 15-minute cab ride from apartment to their location--and they called the cab. What service!)
Would DEFINITELY stay here or at another Régis Airbnb listing again!
Regis and his associate, Jessica were both responsive and excellent communicators. Place was absolutely gorgeous, beautifully renovated with just the right mix of classic Parisian charm and crisp modernity. Fantastic location on Ile St Louis - easy walk to Latin Quartier, Marais and Notre Dame. It is next to a school so if you plan on sleeping in being ear plugs!
Great apartment in a lovely building in a fabulous location. Complimentary bottle of wine on late arrival much appreciated.
