Hello! Thanks for looking at our listing!
Please read my description in its entirety to see if we have a potentially good fit!
We look forward to hosting guests of different backgrounds and welcome you to our sunny tranquil family home in San Mateo with a view of San Francisco Bay. Our home is spacious and cozy, and is very kid friendly. Our home is ideal for vacationers or those on business, and we will always make you feel at home.
We are in an ideal location, close to hwy 101 and 280, and public transportation. We are 20 miles south of San Francisco, 30 miles north of San Jose, 36 miles west of the Tri Valley and 13 miles from half Moon Bay and beaches. We are 10-15 minutes from SFO.
If you must use public transportation, Sam Trans #53 passes close to here.
A little more about the location: You are within walking distance to the Laurelwood shopping center which includes Piazza's grocery store, and several eateries. The College of San Mateo, and Sugarloaf Park, which has hiking trails, are nearby. There is also a farmers market at CSM on Saturdays featuring lots of organic produce.
Our perfect guest is someone who loves life and sharing good conversation. We enjoy learning about different backgrounds and interests! While we would love to share our space with you, and will most likely invite you to join us when we are around, we also appreciate very self sufficient guests! We are a very busy family and need our guests to make themselves at home and take care of themselves. This means tidying after yourself, like loading and unloading the dishwasher, and being respectful of our home.
We do not allow any smokers or smoking on the property, inside or outside. Also, we have no TV, so bring your laptop! We have plenty of toys to share with your children- we just ask you to clean up after they enjoy them.
A little about us: We are an active household, homeschooling our young children. We speak English and Italian in our home and we have a passion for cooking, especially with fruits, veggies and herbs from our own garden. We love to experiment with gluten free international vegetarian cuisine. We love art, books, gardening, inventions and creativity in general. The animals in residence are fish and four lovely chickens who lay eggs.
About the accommodations:
(This is one of three ways to sojourn here; please refer to my other listings for the other two ways.)

There is a queen bed with an organic mattress that can sleep two, a twin futon, and if need be, there is room on the floor for a fourth person, ideally a child, on air mattress or camping mattress. There is a lovely view of the bay from this room. You can see the San Mateo bridge and Mount Diablo from the window! The primary sound you can hear from this peaceful room is the fountain running in our garden. There is a private bathroom en suite. Because the room is upstairs and away from the common areas and our bedrooms, you have the option of having complete privacy.
You also have use of our garden and patio, kitchen and laundry.
Organic coffee and tea available.
Cleaning fee: The cleaning fee is to cover laundry of sheets and towels.

When you make a booking request, please make sure to include:

The view from our home of the bay, San Mateo bridge, and Mt. Diablo is fabulous! We live in an ideal location: 20-30 minutes from San Francisco, the East Bay, the South Bay (Silicon Valley), and the beach tom the west!
The Caltrain station is 1 1/2 miles from us. It is an easy walk down and a rigorous walk UP the hill (that's why we have a great view!). We have parking on our street and driveway. A cab or Uber is the best way to get here from the airport which is 10 miles from here.

I LOVED my time at Angela's place. I was given the privacy I wanted for my time there and that was much appreciated. Her children are beautiful, their interaction is beautiful and such a treat to witness.
I was there for an intensive at school and didn't spend much time in the house. Most nights I did join them for dinner; however I really did appreciate the space to simply be and focus on my week.
I will definitely book here again. The view is awesome, by the way.
Wir waren für eine Nacht da bevor wir wieder nach Hause geflogen sind. Wir hatten alles was wir bräuchten und die Lage war perfekt um den Flughafen zu erreichen.
a delightful setting and a charming family! This home was about five miles from the office where I was temporarily working for a week -- and was much nicer than staying in a hotel. Comfortable bed, private bath, stunning view, complete run of the kitchen. Angela and her children were friendly but not in the least intrusive so I had plenty of privacy. I would definitely recommend this airbnb home for both tourists and those on business trips.
Beautiful, well maintained room and the bathroom. I had a very comfortable stay. I highly recommend.
Angela and her two little angels are excellent host. You are not away from home when the little angels are around. You are going to miss them after you leave. There are many things to learn from Angela including how she can manage 50 different things so efficiently. The room is well maintained and clean. It is not easy to find a place like this.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Angela and her children. Her children are a delight, so well-behaved and they shared some funny jokes with me. Angela was very helpful with directions and at the end of the day we engaged in interesting conversation. She also gave me a taste of her home made pumpkin bread: yummy! The private room was spectacular: a quiet, warm comfy bed, lots of natural daylight and a fantastic view. In the living area, the morning sun shines through and warms the space. Angela also has a compost and recycling bin as well as filtered water system and a superb selection of teas. I hope to stay here again in the future!
I can't say enough about Angela and her lovely family. Business travel is so often impersonal and to feel a "home base" between meeting is great. The room also afforded me a sense of privacy as well. All in, the best of both worlds.
Angela and her son and daughter were wonderful hosts. They have a beautiful home that is located very close to the College of San Mateo.
Angela's place was great. Highlights:
1. My room had a view to the ocean -- perched on top of a hill
2. "Master suite with private bathroom" -- very nice.
2. Room was semi-private "in a loft like area of the home.
3. Kids were great -- they greeted me with enthusiasm to meet a fellow traveler.
4. Angela had great communication, was super friendly, and flexible.
I was here for about 10 days. I stayed in both the loft and in the private bedroom. Angela was very accommodating and a great conversationalist! Her house is beautiful and the sun shines through the large windows making a gorgeous scape to take in early in the morning from the loft. The private bedroom is tranquil and has a very nice bathroom. Additionally, Angela's kids are terrific; they are very smart, nice and fun. The overall vibe of the house on point. Definitely recommend.
