Although she was out of town and we never met, Valerie was very accommodating and hospitable. She communicated with us quickly and helped us with both arrivals and departures. Great instructions for getting to the apartment and allowing us an "early arrival", and advice for local sight seeing. The apartment is in a great location---a quiet side street just a few blocks from the heart of the Latin Quarter and Notre Dame. There were 3 of us--grandfather, daughter and granddaughter. I had been to Paris many times but it was a first for my daughter and granddaughter and I wanted to give them a real taste of Paris. Valerie's apartment was perfect. The size of the apartment was perfect for us for 4 days, though would have been cramped with more than 3 people for an extended stay. Very nicely decorated and cared for place with a great Paris "feel". The only down side is that it is 5 flight walk up (no problem for us but could be if you have trouble climbing stairs) and fronts onto the street above a sports bar so between midnite and 2 am it can be loud if you are trying to sleep between those hours in the living room with the window open. But the two bedrooms are very quiet and comfortable. These minor drawbacks are much overshadowed by the great location and wonderful amenities that Valerie has in her home. In particular, the decor, wonderful use of space, cleanliness and neatness, and the open air market, boulangerie, bars and cafes in the plaza just below made us feel right at home but definitely "in Paris" and easy to meet all our needs for food etc without walking more than a block. Bottom line is that I couldn't imagine a better place for our stay in Paris, and would very highly recommend. Thank you Valerie!!
We are a family of six and stayed at Valerie's apartment for 5 days. It was a wonderful experience! The apartment is clean and as it appears in the photos. One block from notre dame and wonderful restaurants close by! I would recommend to anyone.
Valérie hat uns freundlich empfangen, uns alles gezeigt und in unmittelbarer Nähe einige Restauranttipps gegeben, die wir erfreut ausprobiert haben.
Sehr saubere, kleinere Unterkunft inmitten geschäftigem Treiben. Wunderbare Fussgängerzonen ganz in der Nähe.
We had a wonderful stay at Valerie's flat - it's in a great location very close to Notre Dame. We were a group of 4 women staying for a short weekend break and the flat was ideal with everything one needs for a base for exploring the city. Beds were comfortable and it has all mod cons you would need. It would be great for a family or similar group - 6 might be a bit of a tight squeeze if all adults. We agreed to have the cats stay whilst there, but if you don't like or are allergic to cats then it's worth asking for them to be taken elsewhere as they do like to sleep with you and you will need to feed them/deal with litter trays which isn't for everyone.
Valerie's flat was clean, comfortable, well equipped and stylish. It is perfectly located and easy to access, two minutes from the Metro, five to the banks of the Seine and Notre Dame. We enjoyed our stay and Paris vey much. Communication with Valerie was easy and prompt.
Valerie met us at the apartment and showed us everything and left some good instructions for guests. We felt right at home and settled into her very cosy place - right in the heart of Paris. If you are older, expect to walk up and down several flights of stairs - but this didn't bother us at all. Plenty of shops and restaurants right there and Notre Dame is a block and a half away. Easy commute the the airport by the public transport RER - use Exit (sortie) 6 that has an elevator. Just a short walk away to the apartment. loads of possibilities to use several Metro and bus lines at St Michel. There were four of in the flat and we were very comfortable - the upstairs bedroom is quite large, and quiet.
