  • Our group was there for just over a week, and we all had a great time!
Lisa was out of town, but Rebecca stepped in and did a great job. There's plenty of room, and everything you need for a comfortable stay.
There were a few little quirks. It's never about the quirks, but how you deal with them. The brand new garage door keypad system got stuck...closed...with a car in the garage. Nobody plans for that. Rebecca called a locksmith, who arrived immediately the next morning. Genuine concern, and personal touches go a long way, and she did a great job getting things done.
The microwave had a problem. It kept beeping, and giving a warning that it needed service. We unplugged it. I'm sure that it will be fixed immediately after we leave.
The ONLY knock I have on the place would only be seen by a specific group of people. If you're going to the Monterey Historics, or Pebble Beach Concours, the driveway is very steep, and it's hard to get a very low car into the garage. Rest assured that the neighborhood is quiet, and there's plenty of room to park in front of the house.

  • My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. It was clean and spacious. However, there were a few odd things about the house. I have only dealt with Rebecca, so I am unable to review Lisa as a host. I concur with the previous reviewer that the playground equipment in the backyard is unsafe for anyone and everyone to use. Furthermore, the house seems as though no one has been there to check on it for a while. I am not sure if someone who stayed there had a cat or if the owner has a cat, but anyone with pet allergies may want to steer clear of this place.

  • Our experience with the host was that the host could be considered either horrible, or impossible to determine. We were not able to contact the host at any time. After confirming our reservation and being given contact information for the host, we attempted to reach the host by all means provided, several times. Also, we were confused as to who our host actually was. Our airbnb messages referred to our host as Lisa, however emails received confirming the reservation were signed by "Rebecca" and "The Aldersons." This was the email containing the check-in instructions. We never heard back from our host. The day we arrived there we were unable to get into the house using the code provided to us by the host. We attempted again to call the host multiple times and left messages, but again we did not hear back from her. Fortunately the garage door was left open and we were able to get in to the house. The playground equipment was broken and not safe for children, the deck railing was also loose and falling apart. With young kids, this home was not safe, and it was advertised as a good home for kids. Most of the rooms in the house did have signs to let you know what didn't work, or what needed to be operated differently as a result of it not working properly.

  • We loved the house and its facilities! We stayed two families with small kids and they enjoyed the available toys and the small playground in the garden. Clean, comfortable and pleasant.

  • We rented this house for my mom's 90th Birthday Celebration. Family members came from Montana and the East coast. There were 7 of us in all and the house was a perfect fit. It is exactly as described and very nicely furnished. It is close to everything on the Monterey Peninsula and has easy access to main highways. Lisa was great and I couldn't recommend this house more highly. If you have kids, there is a wonderful backyard for them with swing set and lots of room.

  • Lisa was wonderful and the check-in process was a cinch. In moments we were settled in and my nephew was swinging on the jungle gym in the beautifully landscaped backyard. Plenty of room for 8 to sleep, nicely furnished and with a recently remodeled kitchen. The backyard deck was spacious, and the barbecue looked enticing though we didn't find time to use it. The free Monterey Bay Aquarium passes were put to good use by two couples who took shifts to visit on the same day. We couldn't ask for more. This house was exactly what we needed. Thanks!

  • Great Location! Close to all of the interest points in and around Monterey.
The house was a perfect fit for our four couples. We took our laptop so the WiFi allowed us to find everything we wanted.- from directions to great restaurants. Washer & dryer, coffee maker, patio, and BBQ grill were all +++++'s

Thank You for the great HOUSE!

  • We have a family of 6 and so being able to stay in a roomy beautiful home nearby everything we wanted to do and see while traveling in California was perfect. Everyone had their own room, we prepared meals in the home, etc. The kids adored the fenced-in backyard and, frankly, never wanted to leave the playground out back. The interaction with the friendly owner Lisa from start to finish was professional and incredibly warm, too. She went above and beyond in so many ways - from loads of phone and email interaction answering questions to sharing museum guest passes. This was our first airbnb experience and Lisa made it amazing. We will use airbnb again and will be back to stay at this stunning property in the future, too. It's a gorgeous home and if anything the listing understates how nice it is. What a getaway for our family!

  • We had a wonderful Thanksgiving (and 60th birthday!) at Lisa's home in Monterey. Family came in from Chicago and Colorado and they not only enjoyed being in Monterey, but also being in Lisa's comfortable home. There was ample room for us for meal times and for just "hanging around" time. The only thing we didn't get to try out was the backyard--the rain kept us inside, but inside warm & comfortable. Lisa's description of her rental was totally accurate. We also appreciated Lisa's clear directions, her willingness to get us more kitchen things if we needed them, and her warm expressions for our comfort. We'd stay here again in a New York minute!
