My fully-furnished apartment is on the top (6th) floor, with lift. It has a 30 sqm living room, a large double bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and roof-terrace.
In the living room there is a double pull-out sofa bed which can comfortably accommodate guests 3 and 4 , dining table/chairs, computer desk, wall units, TV/video/DVD and wifi internet connection.
There is also a TV/video in the bedroom.
The small modern kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, microwave and a washing machine.

The 5 sqm roof terrace faces south-west and catches the sun from 11am until sunset.
The situation in the residential area of Neuhausen is great for visiting the city. It's only 3 minutes walk to subway, bus and tram connections, and just 3 subway stops (4 minutes) to the main railway station. A further stop will bring you to the world-famous Oktoberfest site. Two bus stops (or 8 minutes walk) away there is a suburban train station with a 35 minute direct link to the airport. It takes c30 minutes from the apartment to the Messe with public transport.
There are ample shops, restaurants, bars etc within a couple of minutes walk. An open-air swimming pool is only one subway stop away, open Summer and Winter.
Bed linen and towels are provided, plus a welcome pack of tea, coffee and fruit juice.
The apartment is great for couples, families or small groups of friends visiting the wonderful city of Munich and Bavaria.
Even if the dates you need are listed as not available, I may still be able to suit your requirements. Just ask!
During the Oktoberfest the charge for extra guests is €35 per person per night, instead of the usual €20. For stays of one week or more part of these extra charges may be negotiable. Check in and check out times can be flexible on request.

Interaction with Guests

I'm happy to show guests the immediate neighbourhood, and do my best to answer any questions they may have. I'm normally a phone call away if there are any queries.

The Neighborhood

Neuhausen is one of Munich's most popular residential areas. There are several parks close by and there are also plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. The wonderful Nymphenburg castle is less than 15 minutes from my apartment with public transport. An all-year round open-air swimming pool is just one subway stop and ashort walk away.

Getting around

The nearest Subway station is just 4-5 minutes away. From there it's only only 3 stops to the city centre. A suburban train station can be reached with a local bus in 5 minutes. It takes around 45 minutes to the airport.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We really enjoyed the stay in Johns apartment! Everything was just perfect and the contact very sympathetic and straightforward.

  • Flat was very convenient to the U-bahn (a block away) and it was quite enjoyable during the Christmas season since a Christmas market was located at the train stop. Only 3 or 4 stops to get to the heart of the city which was nice as well.

John was very helpful in walking us to the train and showing us the direction to go. He also provided us with juice waiting in the fridge upon our arrival.

The apartment was not as clean as when a professional cleaner comes in and does the job. Even though it was nice to save money by not paying for a cleaner, at the end of the stay I think I would rather do that than have to take the time to clean and vacuum on the morning we were leaving for the airport. Too much to do.

Warning to those with young children that they must keep quiet since the floor seems to be rather thin for the neighbors below. We didn't have any problems with that as we were gone most of the time and didn't have any little ones with us. It could be a problem for those that do, though.

We were able to find street parking each night even though it seemed to be a busy neighborhood. Several dining options to choose from within a few blocks radius. All in all, it was a very convenient and decent flat. If you want more comfort, though, this might not be the place for you.

  • John's place is big, clean, comfortable, and ideally situated to explore both the neighborhood and Munich as a whole. I would happily stay here again.

  • Visited for Oktoberfest 2013 - great venue for a small group, great location with close public transport links, great host, need I say more?!

  • Great experience in Munich, helped by John's helpful advice and welcoming apartment. Good location, close to transport links and local amenities and a short trip to Oktoberfest. We had everything we needed, would recommend to others wanting to visit the festival next year.

  • John was a wonderful host accommodating our request to pick up the key and drop our bags early in the day. He was a wonderful resource for the city and Oktoberfest. We had a fantastic visit to Munich!

  • We really enjoyed staying at John's apartment in Munich. It was conveniently located and the suburb it was in had a lot of eateries. The apartment was quite clean and was convenient for what we required. John was extremely responsive and friendly. We would highly recommend staying here as a base in Munich, particularly for the Oktoberfest and Hauptbahnhof.

  • John's instructions on how to get to his place were very clear. This was only the beginning of John's demonstration of his attention to your comfort. He apologized and bought milk and juice for us (we didn't ask) and made sure we were totally comfortable and knew all the house's amenities. This place was very convenient for seeing both Olympic Park (we walked) and Oktoberfest!

  • Had a great stay in Munich, and this flat proved to be a fantastic base. It was a very short walk to the underground, passing a great ice cream shop, bakery and fruit/veg stall on the way. Across the road from the underground station was a supermarket and decent bar with outside seating/eating. Neuhausen was a very nice area, with a safe, family feel to it.The living area in the flat was bigger than we'd expected, and the terrace was a welcome bit of outdoor space . This was our first time in Munich, and all eight days were pretty jam packed. We were a party of two adults and two teenagers, and did most of the usual things - beer gardens, Dachau, Olympic Tower, beer cellars, Schloss Nymphenburg gardens, etc. This flat was very handy for the centre of Munich, so it was very simple to whizz in, change lines and continue out to the attractions. Transport was cheap, efficient, and far reaching - the Bayern ticket allowed four of us to get to Salzburg for 30 euros return - well worth the trip.
The one slight downfall (totally outwith the owners control!) was that we were there during a heat wave - at times almost 35 degrees. As the flat is the top floor, this meant that it got very hot through the day/evening. As there was a little bit of traffic noise (there is a hospital a few blocks away, so there was the odd siren etc.), we couldn't sleep with the windows open, so were quite warm. There was a great fan in the living room, which helped, but the bedroom was very warm.
With a huge double bed, and a very comfortable sofa bed, we would certainly recommend this flat for a trip to Munich.
