  • Great stay. Stayed in Attic Room 7 which is very spacious. Room gets a lot of natural light for only having one window. Sink in the room is very convenient and bathrooms and showers are only a floor down. Building is located only a short walk from downtown and is right down the street from the new Tram line.

Rachel was quick to respond if I had any questions and easy to deal with.

  • My stay here was WONDERFUL! There's nothing negative possible to report. The attic room was much larger than an 'attic room' would suggest. The room was bright, peaceful, fresh with white walls, impeccably clean and homely. As a solo woman traveller security was paramount to me and this place couldn't feel and have been more secure and safe. I was in awe of the beauty of the very grand building. As you leave the tree lined street to enter the blue door you are greeted with an impressive entrance and spectacular columns with a grand staircase. I could have lived here! Be warned accommodation is so good you won't want to leave to visit Edinburgh ;) all the shared areas were clean with large kitchen and TV area!

Thank you to the wonderful hosts and to Rachel for her fast response to my queries before arriving and prompt booking!

  • Loved my stay here. Very close to so many things. I walked everywhere from the house. Grocery store very close down the street (Tesco).

My room was clean and warm and a nice view of the small greenspace out front. Went to many pubs and enjoyed a variety of music and beers.

A great spot to explore the city from.

  • A clean, spacious room in a great location -- Rachel's place was a mere 5-minute cab ride from the Waverly train station. Restaurants and shops are minutes away on foot and the neighborhood is fairly quiet. I enjoyed my time in Edinburgh immensely!

  • A very cosy room, with plenty of space and lots of natural light thanks to the roof window. The atmosphere is very peaceful in the building, there was always a bathroom available and everything was clean and tidy. I haven't used the kitchen, but it looked very modern and well equipped. Great location in a quiet residential neighbourhood with lots of specialty shops and cafés less than 5 minutes away, either around Canonmills or on Broughton street. Princes street is less than 15mn away on foot, as is Edinburgh's beautiful botanic garden. I was greeted by Mary who was very helpful and accomodating. I would love to stay here again!

  • Great little place to base your adventure in Edinburgh, strong wifi, close to transport links and 5 minute walk to heart of Princes St and on the right side of town to be within easy reach of the bay. Communication with Rachel was excellent and I highly recommend this great value, cozy place to stay in magnificent Edinburgh!

  • Didn't meet Rachel herself but the guy who welcomed us was very friendly. The room itself was everything we needed. Despite being shared there was always a bathroom free. Location is very central and convenient though would warn that it is an upward slog to the train station (if you have heavy bags like we did!) However there are buses running up the main road.

I consider myself to be a friendly person. Interested in meeting new people from anywhere and everywhere in the world. I've spent many years living abroad and love travelling so hopefully get to some of the places my guests come from that I have not yet had the chance to visit! Sooner rather than later I hope!
