Spend the night in a characteristic old building from 1920 with a touch of design and modern comforts! Located at walking distance from city centre and central station. A uniquely decorated, sunny room with easy access to the roof terrace!
We just like stuff! The combination of our old house with new design makes this place really unique. From geometric painted floors to a roof terrace with a view of Groningen. We have two bedrooms. The primary guest bedroom is suitable for two people. It has a very comfortable sofabed. It is possible for a third person to sleep in the adjacent smaller bedroom on a real bed.
There is WiFi in the whole house. Next to this we offer you a shared bathroom with shower and bath, kitchen and dining room. It is absolutely no problem to prepare your own meals. The living room is our own private area.
Interaction with Guests
During your stay we will be at home most of the time. Of course you're free to go do stuff. Just be yourself, we'll do the same :)
Around the corner from our house is a grocery store. There are also multiple eating places and a pub. It is an active neighbourhood with people of all ages. We have really nice neighbours that never make too much noise.
The house is located very centrally. The city centre and central station are within walking distance. There are also two parks nearby.
There is usually plenty of parking space near the house. On busy moments of the day you might have to look around a bit, but there is always a space. It is often possible to use our parking card.
Just act as if you are at home, we'll do the same :)
Smoking is not allowed.
Pets are welcome to stay at our house! We have a dog (Kees) and two lovebirds (Dries & Eddie).
Martine and Wybren were great hosts. Upon arrival, they helped my friend and I carry our bags to our rooms! We felt very welcomed, even by their puppy! The rooms themselves were very comfortable, and the entire apartment was lovely. The shower worked wonderfully, too. The location was ideal as well. Overall I can't say enough nice things about this apartment and its hosts!
We stayed with three persons during the Eurosonic Festival and Martine & Wybren were really great and friendly hosts. A very beautiful and clean house with a nice rooftop, an extremely good Eetcafe around the corner, nice neighborhood. I can definitely recommend this place, if you don't mind living in the same house with the hosts.
A beautiful room with big windows in a lovely house. Martine and Wybren are very friendly hosts. Their house is only 10 mins walk from the station and all the things you'll want to see in town - it's great for visiting Groningen. A good kitchen, a nice neighbourhood and a cute dog (and I'm not a dog fan!) Would recommend! Thanks very much :)
Lovely spacious flat with eyecatching art and design features that capture the spirit of this part of the Netherlands. Warm and welcoming hostess and host who prepare well for their guests. A special experience to visit and stay.
Martine and Wybren were very relaxed, very easygoing hosts. Upon arriving Martine gave us a map with some places around town highlighted. The room was very nice and comfortable. The house was very pretty and clean. The place looks very much like the photos, the rooftop area was awesome!
We had a pleasant stay at Martine's and Wybren's beautiful house. It's well situated in a nice neigborhood - 5 min to the Central Station, 10min to the old city center. The roof terrace offers a fantastic view, though we spent most of the time outside exploring the city life. We got a key as well as a map with various recommendations for nearby cafés, restaurants, nightlife etc. Wybren even lent me his Holland bike when he left for the weekend - which made me instantly extremely mobile, and Martine helped us finding a route to our next destination. Once again, thanks for everything to both of you!
Martine and Wybren are great hosts - very helpful and kind. They provided a nice map of the city with tips and restaurants. Great location for the train station and centrum. Thanks again!
Hello we are Martine & Wybren!
We enjoyed using Airbnb on our travels, so we wanted to open our house to guests as well. We live in a fantastic old house that we are slowly and lovingly improving. The money we earn with receiving guests will be put back into the house. Our next project will be getting the bathroom looking a bit more to our taste. But before that we have plenty of old wood panel doors to sand and paint, and then sand and paint some more...
Don't worry, the guest bedroom is completely finished :)
