On the main road of Playa Santa Teresa only 100 mts from the beach and from the best surf spot of the area "La Lora", fully equipped A/C apartments up to 3 people.
Matais was a fantastic host. The place was right across the road from beach access. Best Soda in town was right up the street if you didn't feel like cooking yourself. I loved eating breakfast with the monkeys on the patio in the morning. The kitchen could have used some more cooking gear but I made due... All in all a very good experience!
We stayed here for 6 days/nights and really enjoyed it. It was a nice little apartment that had a cozy bed, kitchen with most appliances, and nice bathroom (shower that has hot water). The A/C was DEFINITELY the biggest bonus of all and it worked get! It has 2 other apartments that are in the place so you get to know the people staying there too. Mathias, the guy who lived there, was extremely helpful. He recommended so many delicious places to eat, where to do your laundry (which is about at 15 minute walk), what time to surf and many more helpful tips that really made it easy for us to plan our days. The beach is literally a 2 minute walk down the street, there is a surf shop right across the road, many different restaurants nearby and a grocery store within walking distance. I would definitely stay at Nicolo's again when we go back to Santa Teresa.
There are a few things that make the surf lodge an excellent choice for a stay in Santa Teresa. First the location is great. Located on the North end of the strip it's just at the end of all the hustle bustle associated with being in the center of town, but just a few steps away from everything. Also it's right across the street from the beach and the best surf break. The rooms are clean, and spacious. They come with a fridge and kitchen if you want to cook, and the air conditioning in my room was amazing. There's a hammock outside for relaxing during the day and when it gets too hot you can go in your room to cool off in the AC. I also felt very safe at the surge lodge. Last, but certainly not least, was the caretaker/property manager Matias. I can't say enough kind things about him. I came in as a client and left as a friend. Matias was very welcoming. He gave me great advice on what to do and where to eat. He was very gracious answering all my questions. I wouldn't have enjoyed my time in Santa Teresa nearly as much without his guidance. I stayed in two other hotels in the area, but Rumbo surf lodge was my favorite.
We stayed in Rumbo surf for 3 weeks and we absolutely loved it. Nicolo is not there at the moment, but Matias (an extremly friendly guy from Argentina) is running the place. The apartment is clean and everything is working perfectly. We cooked breakfast and dinner almost every night, and the kitchen is very convenient. The shower has hot water (which is really nice after a day surfing at the beach). Santa Teresa is a dusty place, but allthough Rumbo surf is located right in the centre of town, it is isolated by trees: so its both quiet and clean. The beach and surf is only 500 steps (yes, I did count) away! The balcony with the hamaca is also very nice. We are just dreaming of getting back there. I will definitely recommend the place to everyone !
