House - Entire home/apt · Vallfogona de Ripollès, Catalonia 17862, Spain

The Space

Situated in the main square of Vallfogona de Ripollès, this 6-bedroom heated house is the ideal place for hiking and mountain biking or just relaxing....

This large home includes and the kitchen has an oven, stove, coffee machine and dishwasher. Can Pau offers a large dining table and spacious living areas.

Can Pau (Turisme Rural), is a house in the village of Vallfogona, nestled in the verdant foothills of the Pyrenees. The largest near town around is Girona which is about 80 km, one hour drive and Barcelona is about 110 km abut one hour and a half drive. The village of Vallfogona de Ripollès is small and not really touristy as you can see on the pictures.

  • We had some very nice days in Valfogona! The flat is basic, but quite cosy and Emilia did all her best to make us feel comfortable! We took great trips in the area on the bicycles and on foot, and we would love to come back to this wonderful place.

  • This place was awesome! Absolutely beautiful surroundings, and the flat is impeccable. Eduard was away when we arrived, but he let us know in advance to speak with his aunt Emilia who lives literally a stone's throw away from the flat. She is a wonderful (and patient) woman, and though I don't speak Catalan, nor she English, we were able to communicate well enough via both of our broken French.
I would definitely recommend staying here, the flat is nice, the surroundings are beautiful, and the people are fantastic!

  • Vallfogona is a great little village to stay in, as there are friendly locals, a cafe nearby making good espressos, and several walks in and around the countryside. The apartment consists of two floors with a steep staircase up to the bedroom. Unfortunately hot water takes a long time to reach the taps. It is in the centre of the village, in a very old building but with parking just a step away.

  • While we didn't get chance to meet Eduard, we were helped by his Aunt Emilia who was absolutely wonderful. The town is a tiny village nestled in the hills and the apartment is a great base for some hiking. You will enjoy!

  • Such a beautiful medieval town and Eduard was a great host. The perfect place to experience the pyrenees and take some nice walks, and just relax! Thanks Eduard and Emillia.

  • What a great little town!
We where after a quiet little town in the mountains where we could relax and do a little hiking and that is exactly what we got.
On top of this we found a great little community. The people in Vallfogona are among the most humble and welcoming I have ever met.
The house is great, with plenty of room for up to 8, a well equipped kitchen, washing machine etc. The view of the mountains is amazing also. The small store has everything you will need for a short stay although basic. You may need to bring groceries with you if you intend on staying for a while or don't have a car.
Eduard was also obliging in every way.
    Highly recommended!

  • Eduard and Tia Emilia were there to greet us on our arrival to the lovely village of Valfogona. The view over the green valley is spectacular and the town is interesting. Eduard was really helpful in giving us ideas about things to see in the area, maps, etc. We found this a convenient base. Nearby must-sees: the villages of Beget, to the north, and Besalu, to the west; Cadeques and the coast north of it (less than 1.5 hour's drive to the coast). You can take the train to Barcelona from the town of Ripoli, just 7 km from Valfogona. The stone house is cute; the weather was cool and refreshing. There are walks in the hills around the village, too. Just ask Eduard! Great visit!!
