Bologna was [is] great. The food - in restaurants and bars and in the shops - was great. The Bologna philosophy is great; as one pope is alleged to have said, "only in Bologna". The town is great. The walks are great. Even in the depth of winter. You should go there. And if you're there on NY eve head to the square (after dinner). They have this quirky tradition of setting fire to a giant object that symbolises the year past and to honour the change of years. We had a burning garden watering can about three storeys tall. Right there in the middle of the crowd blazing into the midnight sky. I'd never seen that before.
But wait on ... this is meant to be about Elizabeth's apartment. Elizabeth's apartment was great. We had the whole place, including the terrace (but sadly it was a bit chilly for too much outdoor eating). It is big and fitted our family of five into the three bedrooms easily. Although our elder teenager had to squeeze into one of the smaller beds. But after all the walking in the daytime, that was fine. The apartment was tidy and neat and secure and there's a big dining table that we could all fit around on the few occasions we didn't eat out. It is also well situated in the historic part of the city; but check your maps as there is a direct way into town and there's the roundabout way into town. It took us a few trips to figure that out. And make sure you get Elizabeth's guide to eating. V helpful. So, if you’re going to Bologna (and you should – it also a great base for train day trips: Venice, Florence, Milan, Modena) stay at Elizabeth's. Especially if you’re a family.
Elizabeth's home is amazing...the best place to stay in Bologna. In the heart of the old town, perfectly communicated, cozy and beautiful, full of light and great art...you will not miss home! She also has been of great help in all the process and all the time willing to help us in any way. One of my best experiences with airbnb!
Elizabeths home is very nice. Big rooms, very tidy and very well accomodated. There are ventilators and mobile airco’s to keep the rooms cool when it’s hot outside, and there is also a very nice terrace! It’s located in the city centre of Bologna, and the train station is also nearby. Elizabeth is a very nice host. Check-in and check-out details were very well communicated and organised and for the rest of our stay she made sure we had everything we needed, which made our stay in Bologna very comfortable and pleasant!
Elizabeth was the perfect host. She gave us a full breakdown of the apartment in person, and was super easy to communicate with throughout the entire airbnb experience.
The apartment is perfect!!!:) Super clean and tidy with excellent wifi and all utilities etc etc. Ample space for our entire family and you could not ask for a better location when in Bologna. I would have no hesitation in asking Elizabeth for her apartment when I am visiting Bologna again. Thanks so much for all.
This place was excellent. The location could not be beat. The appartment was very clean and had everything you needed with access to groceries nearby. Elizabeth was not available at checkin but had her friend Elisa check us in. She was great. Felt very secure. Highly recommend this place. It really had all you could want.
We stayed at Elizabeth's for a week. It was wonderful! We had a great time. It was such a clean, peaceful, and tasteful environment. The location is very central. Elizabeth was an extremely gracious host.
We're already booking for another stay!
We stayed with our two elderly sons for three weeks at Elizabeth' apartment, giving all of us enough privacy.
Location and the Italo-American interior of the apartment are the best you can wish.

Très bel appartement en plein centre de Bologne. Elizabeth est vraiment très accueillante et de bon conseil pour les visites et les restaurants.
Un endroit à retenir !
