About This Listing
Rustic cabin, built in 1901, now being lovingly nuzzled back to beauty. Spacious and cozy, woodsy and bright, two bedrooms and two lofts and two big porches overlooking the Russian River Valley. A five-minute walk from the river, a five-minute drive from a bunch of wineries, and twenty-five minutes from the unbelievable Sonoma coast.
No internet. No TV. No phone. Yes hummingbirds and the occasional deer. Amenities include plenty of good books, a not-so-good record player, a harmonica, a propane grill on the deck, and a wood-burning stove with plenty of firewood.
Other Things to Note
-For weekends, there's generally a two-night minimum.
-The sleeping spots are: a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom; a two-person sleeping loft at the top of a ladder; a twin mattress that can be on the floor of the study; and plenty of deck space for sleeping under the stars.
-Disclaimer: The place is a hundred years old and the renovation is still a work-in-progress, so there are still some quirks and rough edges: the kitchen table wobbles, the refrigerator is a mini-fridge, the half-bathroom door doesn't latch, etc. If things like that sound like "rustic charm," this house is for you; if they sound like offensive hazards, probably not.
If for some reason you move any furniture, please move it back before you leave.
Please wash any dishes, pans, etc.
The place and location were great! We'd definitely stay here again. Perfect for a quiet get away.
We really enjoyed our stay at Eli's. It was a fun spot for kids and comfortable, clean and spacious for a small group. Eli was easy and accommodating and has excellent taste. The location was central to the River and to shopping and activities. All in all, we had a pretty magical stay along the Russian River at Eli's.
The house was in a great location in Forestville close to wineries and Geurnville activities. The house was a great size for our group (of 5) with a nice deck to enjoy breakfast in the sun.
The house has a working fireplace which is great but the seating is not super cozy for cuddling up on the couch next to it. The space felt like glamping in a cabin in the woods, rather than a luxurious escape, but for the price and location... a great option if you're planning to spend most of your time out and about.
Ample sheets and towels, and the place was clean.
Eli's place suited us very well and we felt right at home. The decorating was beautiful and comfortable but things were still a little rough and felt casual like a cabin should! We had no trouble finding it and found the area very beautiful. It was nice of Eli to be willing to share his vinyl collection with us, and my daughter and her friend happily played Dylan, Springsteen, and The Band all evening long! My daughter would love to rent this place again since she lives in SF, and if we get back there, we would love to be there again too.
Eli's place is so lovely and the host was very helpful. The place just looks like the picture and every single corner is furnished and decorated beautifully. We enjoyed the cozy fire place and quiet beautiful nature. One tiny little minor issue was the wooden bed frame. It was making squeaky noise every time we turned or rolled on the bed. So if you are a light sleeper, it is little hard to sleep comfortably.
If you are looking for a rustic and quirky experience with a great view, this is your spot. I stayed with 3 other ladies for one night to celebrate a bachelorette party weekend and we loved the porch view, wood stove, record collection and general cozy ambiance of the place. The second bed is in a tiny loft space, so folks sleeping up there have to be fairly small and enjoy a tree house-like sleeping experience or the space may not work for 4 people without bringing your own air mattress or dragging this one down from the loft.
Otherwise, fantastic recommendation on the nearby winery - we loved Porter Creek! Excited to come back and explore this area of CA more.
Our stay was fantastic. The home was just as cosy-casual-chic as pictured, and Eli was very welcoming. He even shared with me additional details about events going on in nearby towns the day of my arrival. (Including an Easter egg hunt that we sadly missed!) I will definitely return and also highly recommend this cabin.
