West town is a recently growing neighborhood. It is close to downtown but it is not as congested. It's also a safe neighborhood with 4 stars restaurant and a neighborhood bar with burger lunch special at $7.50.
There is a bus to Michigan Ave/Navy Pier in front the house and train station to downtown 0.7 mile away.

Tippi is a very nice and helpful host.
Room is closed to the public transport.
My best recommendation for Chicago.
Thank you for all Tippi!
Everything was fine. Neighborhood seemed safe. Internet connection worked fine. As long as you are expecting a very small room and a shared bathroom with other guests you should have no complaints.
It was a lovely place for a short stay. Tippi was a great host and was able to help me out with advice on sites to see and transport. The room was slightly small but comfortable for a short stay.
I stayed with Tippi for 4 nights in end July. Her place was very comfortable and convenient for a person like me who was traveling to the city for the first time.
The connection to bus and metro system is great which smoothens your movement into Downtown (takes 15 minutes to get there).
The place is easy to find, neat and clean. I had good sleep on all 4 nights in the room which was facing the main street. The room is small - but I read reviews and knew what I was going in for - a room for a good night's sleep and perfect base to explore the Windy City. I came back quite late on most of the nights and didn't have any concerns on the safety of the neighborhood.
Overall, very good stay. Would highly recommend to the solo budget traveler. Book!
The apartment was exactly what I needed. Perfect location and everything you need. Definitely think about staying here if you are wanting something good in Chicago.
I booked a small nice room in this apartment. Because of my schedule, I only met Tippi on the check out day morning (so fortunate to see her hahaha). The apartment is really comfortable with cute decoration. Everything is so wonderful in a fairly good price. Strongly recommend! (If I would book this again in the future, I wish I could have a talk with Tippi~ She must be an amazing person XD)
I enjoyed my stay at Tippi's place and would definitely recommend it! The location is convenient, I felt very welcome and Tippi was friendly, flexible and helpful.

About the Host, Tippi
I am from Thailand, single and work full time for one of the top consulting firm. I am an easy going, friendly person. I like to scuba, golf, cooking, baking, movies or watch TV at home. I love to meet people, make new friend and Airbnb is one of the great way to do that. That is why I rent out the 2nd floor apartment in my building.
