Nine Mile adventures presents this dreamy take on off-grid, low footprint glamping. Located on Marrowstone Island make it base camp for exploring Port Townsend, the Olympic peninsula & Coast. Many island beaches and parks to enjoy under sunnier skies thanks to the infamous "banana belt".Unplug in the truest sense of the word no electricity or running water.Tent is set up for 2 additional sleeping options for up to a total of 9 available when you rent the entire property (message me for details).

The space
*To ensure your experience is beyond rad please read the entire descprition*
The "tent" a simple wall tent with waterproof canvas tarp style walls, unenclosed corners and zip entry void of locks, repurposed pallet crates make up the wood flooring. A king size bed (European style-no top sheet) handcrafted bedding from vintage linens and a lofty down comforter ensure a warm night's sleep. Repurposed night tables, dresser and comfy seating furnish the interior in a continued effort toward sustainability. Lighting is provided via solar powered string lights above and two bedside table (battery operated) camp lamps. we strongly advise guests bring head lamps and or flashlights to supplement. If there are three in your party the generous size couch can be made up for the 3rd wheel and a curtain can be drawn between the two sleeping spaces providing a measure of privacy.

Similar to a campground the tent shares an onsite regularly serviced porta potty with the other rental cabin on the property. The outdoor sanican "loo' is in its own central setting. No shower on premises, but if you want a real treat try Soak On The Sound in Port Townsend, a unique bathhouse experience. Roast s'mores on your private brick patio in the fire ring -burn ban permitting- for accurate info please call or go to the county (Jefferson) website for up-to-date fire code. For a quick hot insta-fire be sure to pack firewood and kindling although some is available onsite for purchase.

Just steps from the tent locate a classic style pic-nic table for eating, food prep and games as well as fire pit and a basic outdoor kitchen set up with single burner camp stove requiring butane (tall canisters). A gravity fed style sink (no hot water and nondrinking), eco dish soap, space for cutting, preparing and eating. Also provided; dishes, utensils, French press, skillets, saucepans, bowls, mugs, cups carefully curated, and you guessed it thrifted! of course! Basics incl. as well such as salt pepper, coffee, tea, sugar and drinking water via a glass carafe inside. We recommend all eating to be done outside to discourage critters from sleeping quarters.

There is no heat so pack accordingly as evenings can get chilly. Meditate, do yoga, read a book, write a book! knit, or sit back and enjoy a beer from one of the excellent local breweries if that is your jive...

Where you’ll be

Marrowstone, Washington, United States

Although temporarily closed due to fire, a drive by the iconic Nordland General store can be nostalgic. If you have time park and take a stroll down the dock. If you're a shower a day person, Fort Flaggler (5 min. drive up the island) has full service public restrooms complete with showers (bring some quarters) flushing toilets, and not a bad view of the straits and Port Townsend. If Laundry is something you find yourself needing, Port Hadlock has a fine one, situated next door to the QFC market. Throw in a load and head across the street to the "Valley Tav" for the best veggie burgers around! no joke.

Nine Mile adventures Camp sits peacefully at the end of an intentionally underdeveloped short plat. The property is made up of over 5 acres and is heavily treed with Grand Firs, large Western Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple, Alder, Doug Fir, and many other native shrubs including edible berries such as huckleberry, salal berry, salmon berry. Micologists (mushroom hunters) are sure to find the treasure they seek growing fruitfully in these forests. Neighbors live symbiotically with the land, many are without electricity or city water as guests will experience as well.

Please be conscious of the surrounding area and its inhabitants, animals and humans alike respecting normal quiet hours within reason.

If this is something you would like please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. We emphasize that the property is yours to share in its entirety for both you(tent) and the other rental (sleeping hut)renters renters alike (and in the interest of full disclosure an occasional owl, deer, forest mouse, mosquito, bee, spider, snail, bat or slug will undoubtedly make an appearance).
