The apartment is shared with my boyfriend and I, and we're both fun-loving, people-loving, 1st generation New Yorkers who have a HUGE passion for the culture and beauty that makes up this great city, and learning about other people from around the world. Looking for someone clean and chill who can respect my space. The apartment is fully furnished, complete with an upright piano. Lots of original artwork on the walls and film books. It's a 3-flight walk-up, but the space is so comfortable it makes it all worth it! Light kitchen use available, but unfortunately no animals or smoking allowed.
Access to the one bedroom, bathroom (shared with other guests if they are there), light kitchen use, living and dining room.
Complimentary coffee (coffee maker) and tea (bags) available for guests.

Other Things to Note
As always, be kind and respectful of our space as this is our home. It is also home to our gracious neighbors downstairs so we ask our guests to keep them in mind when entering and leaving the building, or hanging out in the house in regards to loud music, etc. Also, it's a 3-flight walk-up, but the space is so comfortable it makes it all worth it!
Your trip is quickly approaching so I wanted to send you some information to help make your arrival as smooth as possible. Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions. Looking forward to receiving you!
The address is 566 Atlantic Avenue Apt. #4 between 3rd and 4th Avenue. The street is a bustling, business area, and we live above a store called “Madina" that sells natural soaps and body products. It should be very straightforward to find. There are two buzzers at the door. Ring the upper buzzer labelled “4th Floor" and just ask for Shah or Hana. Please do NOT mention Airbnb. If you are asked any questions about the purpose of your visit just mention you're a friend of ours. Before entering the house, please remove your shoes. We've provided a bench/shoe rack for storing.
-NEIGHBORS & ROOMMATE
There are only two apartments in the building, we live on the top floor. You will be sharing our apartment with us along with our roommate. You will be sharing a bathroom with her. We also ask for you to be mindful of noise levels, particularly after 11pm during the week.
Our building now has an electronic keyless tag to get into the building which costs $50 (and a world of pain) to replace, so please be careful not to lose it while you're here.
Please be conscious of turning off the lights in the bedroom and bathroom before leaving the rooms. Additionally, kindly turn the AC off when you leave the house for the day to help conserve energy.

If you decide to drive, the best places to park are anywhere along Pacific Street between Flatbush and 3rd Avenue, or any streets after Bergen street between 5th and 3rd avenues. Mind the street signs in New York because parking violations are a constant burden.
Lots of options. Some really great restaurants along Atlantic, Flatbush, 5th and 4th Avenues, as well as Lafayette and Fulton Streets. We've indicated some of our favorites in the Airbnb guidebook, and we also have menus in the kitchen in the drawer closest to the fridge.
You are welcomed to use utensils in the kitchen, and eat at the dining table, so long as you clean up after yourself. Please seal and/or contain any food in the bedrooms. We've never had a rodent or roach problem and we'd like to keep it that way!

We are also pet-free household so kindly don't bring any of the above with you. We absolutely band any use of drugs in our home. Also, please don't bring any guests to the house.

I'm a filmmaker based in New York. I was born in California and raised in Kenya though my family is from Tanzania, so I speak fluent Swahili. I love dancing and spend about 3-4 nights a week practicing different dance styles in the city like salsa, bachata, kizomba and a number of African club dances. I love good food and good laughs, but can't stand a dirty house!
