It is really hard to find something we didn't like... it is the people that make the place and experience an awesome one. Carole and Tony are just great, kind, attentive, and thoughtful people. First great thing is communication. Carole wrote us a personal message minutes after we booked the room to let us know they will be expecting us. We were driving from Barcelona and therefore arrived late on a hot August evening. There was cold water waiting for us in the room with a fan ready if we needed it. The place has a rustic feel about it yet is very clean. Another nice touch was breakfast in the morning with fresh bread right out of the bakery. They also have a big back yard with a swimming pool for one to use. Overall, a very welcoming family who made us feel like home.

Carole and her family were wonderful hosts even though I only stayed one night. Their home is well lived in and very casual. Breakfast in the garden was delightful. I would highly recommend even one night to anyone.

Comfortable, quaint, and lovely describe this delightful place in MontBlanc. Situated in a sleepy quintessential village, we enjoyed a restful stay for one night after a long day of driving. The pool was refreshing, and the courtyard relaxing. The delicious petite dejeuner was a wonderful added bonus, and mingling with other guests (and sharing a song) is a seared memory. Thank you for the last minute reservation!

Lovely charming house in a charming scenic village. Tony n Carol took care of the smallest of details to ensure we had a comfortable stay. it was a 'home away from home' feeling all the way. Tony also guided us to fine restaurants in the area for a lovely experience. I wish we could stay longer. We shall be back soon.

My wife and I arrived in Barcelona in the early morning. We were shuttled to a nearby warehouse district where we picked up our rental car. Two blocks later, we had to pull over with a flat tire. With our phone needing charging we elected to walk back to the rental car office to request assistance. Upon returning to our vehicle 15 minutes, later we discovered that all of our personal belongings were missing. This was not a good beginning to a vacation to which we were so looking forward. Five hours later we arrived in Montblanc,France, the home of Villa Roquette, our home for the next week. Tony met us at the entry and immediately perceived that his new guests were in need of some special attention. We were seated in the back terrace and a lovely chilled bottle of local white wine was uncorked and served. As we consumed the bottle our patient host became the recipient of our story and the dilemma we were facing. We were shown to our room, had nothing to put away, a cursory clean up, followed by Tony personally escorting us to the only restaurant in town, and introduced us to the ownership. After a lovely meal and a good night's sleep it was time to shop. The following morning, Tony's wife,Carole, escorted us to the local pharmacy, where we were able to procure all the medications we were missing. Having our health in hand, we were then directed to Pezenas, a local town, where a large 'everything' store was located. One stop shopping is just what we needed. Clothing, shoes, toiletries and food, both prepared and on the shelf. Also, the Tidwell's picked up a replacement phone charger for us. Having conquered the bare necessities of traveling abroad, it was now time to visit with friends and plan day trips. They provided us with information of interesting sites that they felt were exceptional. Directions were a necessity and they were provided with a smile. However, getting lost is all part of the experience, so we always said 'goodbye', knowing we might not see one another again. We made it back day after day with food from the local market or the 'everything' store to be joined with a bottle of chilled wine from the refrigerator purchased the day before. Having lost our means of communication (iPad) we were graciously invited to use their phone as well as their computer system, which we spent many grateful hours doing. The continental breakfast was simple but quite satisfying and served, within reason, at your convenience. What started out as a sour note in Barcelona soon became a sweet tune with the support, care and generosity of our host and hostess. Aside from the private rooms and suites, this was not a house but a home. We had the pleasure of meeting most of the family-a truly a delightful bunch. If we visit the area again, we know where we will be staying. Steve and...

Carole upgraded us to a suite which was much appreciated. Comfy bed and tasty breakfast with homemade jams and irresistible croissants! Carole took the time to make us feel welcome and share info on Mont Blanc & Pezenas which we loved immensely. Many thanks x

We moved to France 25 years ago and have lived in Languedoc for 20 years as we love it so much. Our 3 kids grew up here and have moved away but enjoy coming back to visit and now we have both our mothers living with us as well. We have dogs and grandchildren, all equally loved!, and enjoy welcoming guests into our family home and life - many have become friends and comeback regularly.

My husband, Tony, is passionate about photography, in particular 19th century wetplate photography . He has built himself a darkroom and photo lab and has built up an impressive collection of cameras and photographic equipment as well as old photos and prints. He loves sharing his passion with visitors so please come and chat with him about it all. He tours the local antiques and 'flea' markets every Sunday and is adept at spotting interesting finds.

We aim to provide a relaxed and family atmosphere at Villa Roquette. Our house reflects our varied interests and passions and is as far away as possible from a formal hotel experience.
