Stroll to the waterfront and Harbour Bridge from this homely sanctuary set within an iconic heritage building. Unwind in the hot tub or heated pool on the roof-top deck with breathtaking harbour views. Gaze at the Skytower (200m) from bed. We carefully consider the travellers' every need. Complimentary Netflix, Nespresso, pool towels & gym access.

Scoff oysters at The Depot or dine at Britomart's Amano. Shop Commercial Bay (500m) or grab a ferry (500m) to Waiheke Island for a vineyard tour.

The space
Stylishly renovated 34m2 apartment set within a heritage building that once housed one of Auckland’s leading department stores.

The well equipped galley kitchen features a conventional oven and dish-drawer by Fisher Paykel and a half-size Belling fridge with freezer compartment. Enjoy coffee capsules from Auckland’s celebrated Allpress coffee, locally made snacks, black, green and herbal teas.

The bedroom area features a king sized bed, bluetooth sound system and a smart TV with Sky and Netflix streaming services. High speed broadband internet is available at the property.

We have carefully considered the everyday needs of the modern traveller - luxury pool towels, umbrella, mini library, First Aid kit, hairdryer and charging ports for electronic devices.

Oversized heritage windows flood the apartment with natural light. They are fitted with shade and block-out blinds so you can sleep or work remotely any time of the day or night. The lofty ceiling height, well designed layout and supersized bathroom add to the property’s sense of spaciousness.

Enjoy building facilities that include a hot tub, sauna, tennis courts, two gyms, indoor lap-pool and the city's best heated rooftop pool with breathtaking views of the Waitemata harbour, the Viaduct and Auckland's Skytower.

While most apartments in this building are owner occupied, some are leased back to a hotel operator. A 24/7 concierge on the front desk offers peace-of-mind security and emergency assistance for guests and residents alike. Guests benefit from the resort-style amenities.

Mindful of the impact that tourism has on the environment we are continually exploring and adopting new sustainable practices. We provide our guests with NZ made snacks and locally produced Allpress coffee capsules that we recycle. We also use refillable bottles for Eco-store toiletries, Eco-store cleaning products and tree-free (bamboo) toilet paper.

I am a former art curator and serial house remodeller with a love for boutique hotels, heritage architecture and all things vintage. My penchant for refurbishing homes, hospitality and contemporary art make me and Air Bnb natural bedfellows. My focus is on providing stylish accomodation that is homely and welcoming both in Auckland and at the Two Little Birds Bach in Cable Bay, Northland.

In my twenties I travelled the globe working in hospitality in Aspen, Colorado and London to fund travels through southern Europe and Turkey. These days I relish short breaks in Northland or Waiheke between bookings where I can get back to nature and combine family time with a spot of market research. Increasingly the impact of tourism on the environment informs my choice of destination and accomodation. My favourite holidays are authentic experiences, journeys ‘off the beaten path’ in Bali, Samoa or Noosa and staying at locally owned-operated villas or fales rather than multinational, large-scale hotel complexes.

Over the years I have regularly adapted my offerings so that others can enjoy travelling in a more meaningful and sustainable way.
