The Space

Welcome Sailors !
You can stay on my boat, Its perfect for 1 person or couples
Upto max. 4 person is the max that can sleep there and 2 mountainbikes & locks are included

If your dates are already reserved try the other boat... theres 2 on airbnb

This boat is almost the same as the other one except it has a 32" ledscreen TV installed and a double bed midship and is 2 min walk from the toilet-showers ,I am there most of the time but when I am not there sailing can be arranged with a friend on the same pier

2 nights is the minimum stay and discounts for week/month.

What you see is what you get : accurate description and exact pictures

There's also 2 mountainbikes to go explore bikefriendly Barcelona you can use for free
if you just want to go sailing ,message me,you dont need experience as you will get a basic course during your stay and get to steer the boat & handle the sails...I pride myself in teaching beginners how to sail hands on and fast

everything is already on board to use so you wont need anything else,an electric heater is there for cool nights,220v electricity, stereo with plug for ipods,2 guitars,2 fans and fridge & freezer and you can cook food as there is a small kitchen with double hotplate oil-spices-cooking utensils and a supermarket near that has great fish at low price(ask me to grill some fish, you'll love it !) .

If your not used to sleeping on boats ,the tides swell gently rocks the boat a little,...there's music from the clubs from midnight till 5,with fri-saturday most busy nights so if your noise sensitive you might like earplugs(theres plenty on the boat) or just close the hatch but I didn't have any complaints yet,you get used to it,if you are a clubber you will like the advantage of being in the centre of BCN's goin out area, the clubs in the port are free entrance and I can get you on a guestlist for free entrance to the clubs on Barcelonetta's beach like opium,shoko,... 5 min away,Razzmatazz(Barcelonas biggest club) is a 10 min walk, security in the port is supersafe ,guards at the gate and nice neighbours on the same pier makes it very secure to leave your stuff, the only thing is you will have to grab a free towel from the boat and do a 2 min walk to the shower+toilet building, they are kept clean 3times a day and theres separate men and women facilities with at least 5 toilets & showers each only for boatowners so you never have to wait
when I am there basic breakfast is included,(musly/coffee),ask me for lunch or dinner or if you yourself want to cook...,I like to make fish but some of the best restaurants are in the port who do a 3 course menu del dia during the workweek (11-16u) for 10€ I prefer "Fonda del port"
Its not the idea to go sailing with it alone (except when I'm on board) and you will get a basic sailing training and can steer the boat, you will find it very peacefull on the water 5 min from all beaches and only 15 min walk from the city centre

my boat's cabin layout is a double berth(for snuggly couples)& a single berth midship and 2 single berths @ the back of the boat remember,it's a 10 meters yacht so the cabin is not big & sleeping 5 person can feel a bit crowded but hey thats what cosy boatlife is like

What part of Barcelona do you live in ?
port olimpic,Barceloneta,it's near the Centre right in the middle of all the beaches,it's the port from Woody Allens "Vicki Cristina Barcelona" movie

I don't mind you smoking outside or on deck outside of the cabin

What fun things to do are there around where you live?

around the port is the goin out area:clubs, restaurants, bars, it's right next to all the beaches,5min from the supermarket & shopping centre,it's also very close to the gym & swimmingpool

Public transportation ?
tube, tram busses, trains and 3 bicing stations are very near(only 1€ train/metro from the airport takes 1 hour) 15 min cabfare from the airport(25€) and 5 min walk to parc ciutadella, the N8 -N6 nightbus takes you to the centre all night long

I make sure to always have clean sheets, blankets, pillows and towels on board

The plan is to contact me for availability and send a reservation,if accepted you get an email with all info and directions within 24 hours, meetup is with me at the piers gate at a time that works for you and late checkin is no problem, last minute bookings can be arranged within 12h from reservation to arrivaltime

any questions 24/24 7/7 just call my cellphone or add me as a friend Phineas Lancsweert
on feesbook and for more info and pictures check out the group cruises to pleasure

more info on port olimpic :
Port Olimpic was built in 1992 for the summer Olympics and since then it has become one of the main hubs of activity in the city. Although it is still a working marina, it has a wide variety of restaurants, bars and a casino that offer options to suit everyone’s taste. Enjoy a cocktail in the famous Kennedy’s Bar, where you can also watch all the big sporting events on a big screen TV. Dine in style in the highly reputed “La Fonda” or “Cangrejo Loco”
Sport and Recreational Facilities abound in and around Port Olimpic.. Take a short stroll over to the famous Barceloneta beaches and bask in the sunshine on the boardwalk. Dingy sailing, windsurfing, and diving classes are all available. Barcelona enjoys an average of 2,777 hours of sunshine every year .For those who prefer more sedentary activities, there is a multi screen movie theater within walking distance showing movies in their original version, and for the shopaholics you will find one of Barcelona’s many shopping Malls, Diagonal Mar nearby.
Barcelona is of course renowned for its tourist attractions and for the Gaudi aficionados amongst you there is a wealth of wonderful sites to see either on foot or an easy bus ride away. Hop on to the City Tour Buses, which stop in Port Olimpic to get an overview of the city sites. Las Ramblas, Plaza Cataunya, Passeig de Gracia, Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, the Picasso Museum and many, many more fascinating places are all easily accessible.

  • Staying on a boat was good fun. Phineas took us out sailing with some other people as well which was fun. Location was good, Phineas was good at replying to emails etc as well. It was a little bit weird that we were asked if it was ok if the boat was taken out when we were doing some sightseeing - although Phineas assured us our stuff would be safe (and if was) we were still a little uncomfortable with other people being on the boat and us not there. Would stay again.

  • Phineas and his friend Jeremy (whose boat we ended staying on instead) were very easy to communicate with and gave us options/ideas of how to spend our time in Barcelona. The boat was compact but had enough space for two people. And it was really beautiful to stay in the harbour on such a nice weekend. Thanks guys!

  • If you like boats, and you don't mind a rocking bed, you should definitely stay at Phineas' boat! We had a warm welcome and Phineas made us feel very welcome to Barcelona. We took two trips with the sailingboat, which was awesome. There is some music on the docks during the night because of the clubs, but it dus not really bother us. Unfortunately the mountainbikes got stolen the week before we arrived, but everything we wanted to see was fairly easy to travel by metro or even by foot. Phineas is really helpfull and easy-going. Furthermore, te harbor felt really secure thanks to the security-guys that are watching the entrance during the night. Thanks for everything Phineas!

  • One of the best experiences I've had, the boat life is really something else!!

The location is perfect, near all the beaches and areas you would want to go.

Phineas and I became good friends due to him being such a great host and always going that extra mile to make me comfortable during my stay in Barcelona.

Thanks for everything , I'll be back very soon!

  • A great little boat for a weekend trip to Barca. Had no trouble finding the port or the boat thanks to Phineas' detailed instructions on the site. Also added him on feesbook and we communicated through that closer to our arrival date. His welcoming friend Mat was there to greet and us show us around the boat and port, he also offered to take us out on a boat trip if we wished. The boat its self is fairly cosy, there are clean sheets available and a working TV. We enjoyed an afternoon of sitting out on the deck and enjoying a glass of sangria looking out over the port. There were also two bikes available which we took advanatge of and cycled up to Park Güell, which was so handy and saved us nearly €40 if we were to higher them. There's a metro station about a 10 min walk from the port, so getting about is really easy. There was also some nice bars and clubs next to the beach which is less than a 5min walk. Can highly recommend Phineas' boat and his hosting skills for a fun and different way to stay in Barcelona. Many thanks for a great stay, Phineas. Will be sure to look you up the next time we go.

  • I had a fantastic time staying on the Boat. We had some last minute travel disasters and it ended up being only one of us stay. Phineas was more than understanding and made everything about the stay enjoyable. He met me at the restaurant in the harbour late at night and he was very relaxed about sudden change of plans.
We went out sailing with another group on the Sat and it was very enjoyable and safe. Haven't sailed for a few years so was great to be out on the ocean again!
Phineas gave me lots of inside information about the city and even took me to a little restaurant that I would not have found on my own. I used the bikes that were available and the beach is SO CLOSE!
I would definitely recommend to stay there again. Staying on the boat, drinking a wine and watching the sun go down, you are in such a relaxing bubble compared to the busy city!

  • "Welcome aboard. Do you want to take the boat out for a ride tomorrow?" This was the hearty greeting Phin gave to us when we boarded his 30 foot sailboat.

Of course we said yes. Why not try something truly unique in Barcelona. Sailing on perfect sunny day on my first day in Spain fit that description aptly.

Phin was a great host. He was diligent, ensuring his guests were taken care of from comfort to transportation and even to advice on best dance clubs to visit on a Saturday night.

If you're looking for a one of a kind experience in Barcelona, be sure to contact Phin.

    Anchors away!!

  • What a PERFECT place to stay in of the GREATEST cities on earth!!! After living in Phineas' boat for 5 days, we just didn't want to leave...ever! Sailboat actually looked and felt bigger than in the pictures and the two of us had no problems fitting in with all our baggage. Toilet and shower facilities were clean and not far at all and we fell in love with Port Olimpic with its vibrant atmosphere and friendly community.

Bikes were great to get around in a bike-friendly city that Barcelona is. We were able to see much more of the city on a saddle than we would have done walking or with public transportation. We biked everywhere - including all the way up to Park Güell :)

Watching the ever-changing panorama from the boat's terrace was one of the finest experiences of all our travels around the world. It feels so good to wake up on a boat - at least if the weather is right. The only minor drawback of our stay was the wifi connection which worked unreliably and slowly - maybe it was over capacity at that time or something.

Would not hesitate a second to stay here again! Also proud to be the first FINNISH crew aboard Trautel! This experience will surely stay with us for the rest of our lives...

  • I would definitely recommend you stay with Phineas! My boyfriend and I spent two nights on his Sailboat and really enjoyed ourselves. It was so awesome having access to his bikes so we could easily and quickly explore the city. There was a supermarket close by so we could buy groceries. Phineas had lots of recommendations and helpful hints for us and lots of stories and experiences to share. Albeit the boat life is a little different as space can be limited, it was absolutely worth the experience. It was so nice to wake up in the morning to the sunshine and the calm waters of the Marina.

The first night we stayed his neighbours had returned with the catch of the day and offered us a share for free! So we got to enjoy fresh fish on the boat for dinner. We also had the opportunity to spend some time on the water and learn a little more about sailing. If you are up for trying new things, I definitely recommend you try this!!
