The BM3 goes to Manhattan
Other Things to Note
Compared to Manhattan and even the Burroughs, the boat is in a very quiet area. This is mainly due to an 8' high imitation grass fence and the fact that the marina's is well below the surrounding ground level. This also protects us from wind making the marina very placid
Notwithstanding, we are next to a large cinema complex, 4 restaurants, a 24/7 deli with excellent prepared foods. A short walk away is an excellent beach situated in a national park.
We live on quiet dock...we ask that people observe quiet hours that go from 9 pm to 9 am.
There are wood floor installed in boat. If they get wet we ask that you dry them (we will provide towels to do so). We have spent a lot of time upgrading and making the boat very livable. We just ask that you would treat our place like you would yours! Thank you!
Please also note that no pets or animals are allowed. The waterway we are moored on is part of the Gateway National Park and regulation prohibit the same for our location.
Was in Brooklyn for work. Angus and Lisa's boat is very nice and was a great place to stay. I only met Angus, but he was incredibly nice, generous, and helpful and answered any and all questions I had.
Angus was a terrific host (unfortunately, Lisa was out of town). He made us feel incredibly welcome on their amazing houseboat. Their description of the boat is probably moderate and the area that they are moored is wonderful. I would highly recommend staying with Angus and Lisa and certainly will be for any of my own future trips to NYC.
This was my second time staying at Angus & Lisa's House Barge, and it was just as comfortable as the first time I stayed there. It was a bit colder outside this time around, but I was toasty warm inside with additional heaters in the barge left unused. As before, communicating with Angus & Lisa was easy prior and during my stay. The location is great. Really like the easy free parking, faster wifi and big ass TV making my stay at this charming house barge a delight. Hope to stay here again in the future.
An excellent place to stay to visit the Big Apple.
Calm, Quiet, (rare!!), over water bed ;-)
Perfect, let's say..
The house boat is nice and comfy. It is very easy to go to the city center with the bus and then the subway. Angus is helpfull and was always there to help us.
There were four of us staying on Angus and Lisa's houseboat. It was close quarters for four people, but absolutely worth the experience. We wanted a unique and affordable place to stay, and I'm very happy with our choice. They were wonderful hosts who were very happy to help out with transportation and recommendations of things to do and places to go. The houseboat was tidy and cozy and generally lovely. I have only positive things to say about our experience there.
