Large beautiful 2 BR apartment located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. Shops, restaurants and parks down the street and it's walking distance to Williamsburg.
Convenient access to 3 subway lines (G train, 7 train and L train are all within walking distance) makes it very easy to get to Midtown or downtown Manhattan. For drivers apartment is close to Williamsburg Bridge, Ed Koch Bridge, Midtown Tunnel, 278 and 495, so it's very easy to get to just about anywhere in the 5 boros (and I have a parking space you can use if you let me know in advance).
The apartment is clean and spacious, with wireless internet, washer/dryer, a well kept kitchen (with a dishwasher), parking (with advance notice) and access to a nice backyard with a garden. I love this apartment, I've been here for 7 years and it's nice quiet neighborhood without being too far off the beaten path. I also have a spare bicycle that you can use while you're here. Apartment is on the ground floor so it's very easy to get in and out. Perfect for a young family, a couple, 2 couples, a roommate situation... Very flexible.
Smoking is permitted but only outside. I'm a friendly, easygoing musician, I want you to have a good stay. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
I also rent the rooms individually for shorter periods of time throughout the year, check my profile to see the other listings. I listed the entire apartment for the first time because I'm looking to go away for January/February but you can check the reviews for the individual listings to get a sense of how guests like the space.
Guests have full access to the apartment, including the kitchen and bathroom and backyard garden. Parking is available right in front of the house upon request.
I will be there to let you in and to see you off but otherwise will be off-site (but always available on phone or email should trouble or need arise).
Greenpoint is full of all sorts of cool little restaurants and shops. Restaurants I recommend are Paulie Gee's (pizza), Vamos Al Tequila (Mexican), Cafecito Bogota (Colombian) and Champion Coffee (Coffee and Pastries). There are lots of little boutiques along Franklin St that are worth checking out too!
Both the G Train and 7 Train are within walking distance, giving you easy access to all points the city (as well as the B43 and B62 buses). There is a private parking spot right in front of the house that is usually available upon request.
Great time in Greenpoint, the room was confortable and perfect for who wants stay in NY out of noise area!
Mattie is a really nice guy, polite and helpfull. The apartment was clean with a cool garden and I would definitely recommand his room.
Mattie made me very comfortable with everything and this is a very nice and quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay with him again. Great parking too if you are driving.
Mattie is a great host, very easy to communicate with and flexible with arrival and departure times.
The room and entire apartment are really clean and the bed is crazy comfortable.
Location was perfect for my short stay, since I spent most of time in Brooklyn, but its super close to the G which can get you anywhere in the city.
Would recommend Mattie's place to anyone and would stay here again!
The room was really nice, lots odf space and privacy. Netflix is nice when you had a long day in New York.
Mattie is friendly and helpfull. He gave us a great stay.
The location of the room is ideal, nearby is a subway and a supermarket. You're in no time in Manhatten.
I would certainly recomment this room to my friends.
I stayed in Matty's apartment for a week with my boyfriend and we had a great time! Matty was a great host, very friendly, quiet and accommodating. The space itself is fantastic, very private, close to the subway and near to bars and restaurants. It is also very easy to get into Manhattan, only about 20 mins. The room was a great base to come and go from, and also a really cosy place to hang out when it was freezing cold outside! I would definitely love to stay here again. Thanks Matty!
The apartment is only 10mins away from the subway and Mattie was an accommodating host. The good thing about this place is that it has parking for those travelling by car.
However, I was disappointed by the fact that the room was full of dust. It had dust balls like if the room hadn't been properly sweped or dusted in several months. Also, the room is very noisy so we woke up several times in the middle of the night. We could hear the neighbour above walking and talking; the pipes are very noisy as well.
I'm sorry that Carolina had a mixed experience with the room. The room was swept and dusted immediately prior to her arrival but I will certainly take another look at it. If there's ever a complaint with the cleanliness of the house/apartment I'm always on site and happy to fix the problem.
Regarding being able to hear street noise or the neighbors walking around upstairs I would say that this is actually a fairly quiet residential street/neighborhood by NY standards (as noted by previous renters) so I would say it's sort of the nature of a NYC apartment. A serene suburb it is not. :)
I know this was the first time that Carolina has used Airbnb so perhaps her expectations were a bit high. But again I'm sorry for the mixed experience.
Mattie could not have been a more accommodating host, and staying at his place in Greenpoint couldn't have been more convenient and economical.
He was gracious enough to accommodate my arrival after 9 p.m., and in the AM he pointed me toward a subway route into Midtown (the 7, a ten-min walk across the canal bridge nearby) that had not been evident when I looked at MTA maps. Oh, and I had a fine time perusing history titles from his library!
Mattie was a great host! Super friendly and he let us stay in a larger room than the one we had booked. He was helpful with giving directions for the subway trains. I'll definitely consider staying again next time I'm in the city
Mattie's place was great. Clean, quiet, and rather spacious (especially for a New York apartment). Greenpoint is a nice home base for travel into Manhattan. and was super-convenient for me since I was actually doing something there. Mattie promptly communicated with me, and was a great host.
My girlfriend and I came for a night and stayed with Mattie. He was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. He was even kind enough to let us use his parking spot during our stay. The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. It was also very close to public transportation and restaurants, etc. Sadly we had a medical emergency and had to leave early but we would definitely come back. Thanks Mattie!
