You will have the entire lower floor of my house. You have your own entrance-there is no inter-floor connection to the upper floor where I live.
The lower floor has a kitchen, living room, bathroom and a bedroom with a covered deck looking out on the redwoods and Russian River from your hammock.
Please note that the apt. is in two sections separated by the covered deck which is like a large open air living room.
The bedroom is at one end of the deck and the kitchen, bathroom and small living room are at the opposite end.
The bathroom is off of the kitchen.
The entire floor has views of redwoods and hills across the river. It is a unique space and very beautiful but is probably not the spot to stay if you are looking for a cookie-cutter hotel experience.
Wi-Fi is throughout the unit. Large flat screen TV and a CD player are in the bedroom. IPod dock in the living room.
The hot tub deck is just steps from the bedroom and is available for your use.
There is a 3 car parking deck so you will have your own parking place. The house is one mile from River Road--the main highway from US 101 freeway to the coast.
It is very quiet and is on a private dead-end single lane dirt road that is wonderful to walk on.
Everything you would want to see in Sonoma county is close at hand. Wineries, restaurants, beaches are all 20 minutes away.
This Forestville retreat is exactly what we needed. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by the forest with it misting on us, was really magical. Our host, Gregory, was warm, hospitable and allowed us our privacy. The property's kitty cat, Rigo, was just a bonus.
Gregory's place was beautiful, and he was very nice and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant place to relax for the New Year. I would come back again in a heartbeat!
We had a very peaceful and pleasant time at Gregory's house. We were looking for a quiet place with a hot tub in the redwoods and we found exactly what we were looking for.
The house is very clean and well furnished, Gregory is a very nice host who seems to have gained a great wisdom from traveling the world.
A very cool space! The outside scenery is gorgeous and quiet, perfect for a getaway from any noisy city. Once inside, there is plenty of interesting decor to look at, I'm guessing all from his travels.
Gregory was very polite and took care of us, especially since the power was out during the first night of our stay. We had plenty of candles and flashlights to make sure we felt comfy and safe!
Once we had the place to ourselves, we didn't see or hear much from him and allowed us our privacy.
He has TONS of great reccomendations on what to do around the surrounding area, and we ate some pretty awesome food in Guerneville throughout the day.
Hot tub was fantastic, clean and relaxing. Me and my partner enjoyed glasses of wine and some cheese during sunset.. a very nice way to end the day.
All in all, an A+! We'll be coming back again!
My boyfriend and I had the most relaxing time at Gregory's place in Forestville! We ate at an incredible restaurant called Corks close by, and spent the rest of the weekend indoors, cooking on the burners (no oven).
We enjoyed the layout, the hot tub, and the deck. It was a bit too cold to lay out on the hammock, but would love to come during summer.
Checkin and Out were a breeze, Gregory is a good communicator and there to answer any questions.
Very strong wireless internet connection! Cable TV. Ipod sound system in the living room/kitchen for good tunes while you cook, I highly recommend!
My wife and I came up for our anniversary, and could not have had a better time. Reading in the hammock, slipping into the hot tub at sunset (wine in hand), beautiful redwoods to admire, and plenty of useful local recommendations from Greg. What more could a pair of city slickers looking to escape the grind for a weekend want? Nothing, that's what.
My boyfriend and I just spent a long weekend at Gregory's wine country retreat, and it couldn't have been any more relaxing. Gregory is a very kind, warm person, and immediately made us feel welcome. The views of the redwoods from his porch are outstanding--even more so when enjoyed from the comfort of the hot tub! The house is conveniently located within driving distance to the beach, several quaint towns, and more vineyards than you can count, so we were plenty entertained during the day. In the evenings we cooked our meals in the kitchen (which is well-stocked with plates/utensils/pots/etc) and relaxed on the porch. Although it's getting a bit chilly now with the fall weather, we were perfectly cozy with the flannel sheets and comforter--a plus for someone like me who always seems to be cold! In sum, Gregory's house is highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing trip to wine country. Enjoy!
Gregory's home is very clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of redwoods from the patio. We loved the remote location, lush greenery, and vintage decor. The hammock on the patio was a real treat! However, I think this place would work best for an older couple.
My girlfriend and I needed a quiet weekend to escape from what has been a hectic & stressful August. We got that in spades with the Wine Country Retreat.
We ended up spending most of Saturday reading & relaxing in various furnishings around the property and enjoying the cool shade on a hot fall day. We both really loved the vibe of the place, the placement & tone of the art, trinkets and furniture around the house & property made us content and happy.
Gregory was very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations; yet he respected our privacy completely.
Can't wait to come back, hopefully for a longer stretch of time!
We had a wonderful time at Gregory's little paradise in the woods. The hammock and the hot tub made the relaxation complete. Gregory was the perfect host -flexible, available and respectful of privacy. I would book again in an instant.
