Located a minutes drive from the beach, yet set back in a secluded bush setting. Havana offers the best of both worlds – easy access to all that Rye has to offer, yet private enough to be away from the noise of the foreshore. Havana is an elevated, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom property which has been recently modernised and renovated.
Set in a triangular block, Havana is set up in the trees with views of the bush setting. This provides for a usable, protected under cover area below the house for barbecuing and relaxing, and a rear deck for stretching out and taking it all in. The more observant may also find the hammock strung between trees, and while away the hours with a book and a cold drink.
The house itself has been recently and lovingly refurbished. Taking inspiration from the natural environment, bush living and its relaxed setting, Havana offers a cozy and inviting home for you to stay in.
The living area is laid out in an open plan arrangement, allowing you to relax and talk, watch television, imbibe in your favourite board games, clear an area for entertaining or simply sit back and snooze the afternoon away.
The kitchen is well proportioned and provides microwave, cooktop, and oven for those inclined to cook indoors. More importantly there’s a dishwasher to take the pain out of cleanup, a large fridge to store all your weekends needs and drinks and a espresso machine to jump start the day!
Two generous bedrooms each offer queen bedding, rugs, side tables as well as storage and hanging space. The east facing bedroom has the added convenience of a flat panel TV. Both bedrooms have convection heaters which quickly heat the rooms up on chilly nights.
Beautifully located, Havana is only a stone’s throw away from Rye. You could drive to the beach in a couple of scant minutes or stroll there down the quiet streets. Rye township is only a short distance away again, though far enough that you don’t suffer the noise and frivolity that usually accompanies peak holiday times.

The coastal town of Rye is situated on the popular holiday destination of the Mornington Peninsula, nestled between Tootgarook and Blairgowrie.
Point Nepean Road is Rye's main thoroughfare, running parallel to the town's bay beach. The main concentration of shops is located east of Dundas Street and includes a hotel, eateries, a major supermarket and other retailers.
Rye's main beach, fronting Port Phillip, offers safe sandy beaches, ideal for swimming and boating. There is a jetty, several boat ramps, and attractive foreshore facilities with picnic areas, shelters, playgrounds and walking tracks.
Around a kilometre west of the Rye Jetty is an outcrop of land called White Cliffs. At the base of the cliffs is a reconstructed old Lime Burners Kiln - a reminder of the mid-1800s when the extraction of lime was the area's primary industry. Scenic views along the coast can be enjoyed from lookout above the kiln.
Rye extends southwards across the narrow width of the Mornington Peninsula in this area, right down to the coastline fronting the open waters of Bass Strait. The Mornington Peninsula National Park spans the foreshore here, consisting of scenic walking tracks, rocky coastal features, dunes and pockets of sandy beach. A pathway and steps extends from Tasman Drive down to the sandy bay at Number 16 Beach.
Further south-east along the coast is Rye Ocean Beach, accessed from the southern end of Dundas Street. Officially located within in the small coastal community of St Andrews Beach, the beach and foreshore area also forms part of the Mornington Peninsula National Park, offering wide expanses of sandy beaches and rolling sand dunes covered in native vegetation. The next beach of significance further along the coast is St Andrews Beach which can be accessed via the car park at the end of Paradise Drive. Views can be enjoyed along the coast towards Cape Schanck and its lighthouse.
Parking is included within the property boundaries and is securely fenced. Rye is an easy journey from Melbourne, access is easy via either Nepean Highway, the Mornington Peninsula Highway or the new Peninsula Link freeway!

Our little house in rye was fantastic! Only wish we could've stayed longer. It was hugely important to us that our dog was able to come with us and we felt very comfortable letting him run around in the safe and secure grounds of Havana! We really enjoyed our stay and I'm sure we'll be back.
We were both overwhelmed with joy from the moment we arrived at Havana in Rye! The gorgeous house is just what you might expect from the photos, if not even better! Luxuriously decorated, comfortable and clean, the house is well equipped with everything you could possibly think of for a wonderful stay. Neil has obviously put in a lot of thought to accomodate the needs of holiday goers and it really shows. The extensive outdoor areas (including sand pit and fire pit!), games, amazing shower and great proximity to the town shopping strip and front beach are all fabulous bonuses - also a short drive from Sorrento, Portea and the national parks. We give great thanks to Neil for a such a memorable stay - it was definately very hard to leave and we shall pass on the strong recommendation to visit to our family and friends!
About the Host, Neil
I am a laid back person who prides himself on being able to work with almost all walks of life. I enjoy a good holiday myself and have built up Havana with my partner, Heather, according to the likes that we have when we go on holiday. More than anything else we like uniqueness and things that evoke a sense of wonder or amusement, and think this shows through in what we've done with our holiday home. We love it ourselves and hope you do likewise :)
