This is a big attic space with its own half bath.
It is at the border of Oakland, Emeryville and Berkeley, very close to the Bay Bridge/San Francisco (9 minutes to downtown if there is no traffic).
I work from home and i am mostly around. i am a landlord and property manager by trade...
I am vegetarian so no cooking meat or fish in the house... i see myself as quiet, easy going and friendly...
there is Wifi and TV with DVD player in the room and tv with cable downstairs... I also have a computer and printer i can make available to you. you have full access to the living room and kitchen.
Breakfast is not included.
The 300 sq.ft that i am listing is just for the attic space that you will be in. There is another 700 sq in a 2bdrm apt downstairs where i live and where the kitchen and full bath are and i often have another roommate downstairs (see separate listing).
Washer and dryer are coin operated and are downstairs. Street parking is easy. Off street parking may be possible but not guaranteed.
We are very close to shopping and restaurants in Emeryville and downtown Berkeley. Close to public transportation - between Macarthur Bart and Ashby Bart station (Berkeley), AC Transit (Bus) and Emeryville Amtrak (train) station. There is a free shuttle called Emery-Go-Round that takes you from 53rd and Hollis to Macarthur Bart station as well
Building has 4 units and i am upstairs in the back.
Attic is not insulated! it gets a little warm between 1-6pm in the summer. You can hang out downstairs or most likely be out and about. There are fans and air-condition machine in the room if you need them. I had a roommate for 14 months who worked 8-4pm and never needed them.
If you have pets, I may be willing to consider them, but make a monetary offer for the inconvenience... i would not take more than 1 dog and it has to be small or medium... the attic space has no door (although i guess access could be block) but i work from home and i would not want to be stuck at home with a dog whimpering or barking... if it is a super sweet dog and well behaved i might let him hang out with me downstairs... if you are moving to the bay area, don't bring your dogs... especially if you have to secured employment... there are a lot of landlords that won't accept dogs and housing in the bay area is very competitive...

George was a great host! Really nice and welcoming! I loved my attic space upstairs. It was also great having a parking space for my rental.
FYI the attic space isn't insulated so it's not the best place to hang out during the day, especially during a warm/lovely Oakland afternoon (but why would you be inside then anyways??). But I really enjoyed waking up in the space in the morning and coming back to it in the evening!
George was a friendly host. Good location if you have a car, nice big space upstairs (in his attic) that you stay in. Only complaints were that the toilet light upstairs didn't work and shared bathroom downstairs was not overly clean. However we still enjoyed our stay here.
George was fantastic!! Truly a great host! He is super helpful with everything. We enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you George!
My stay with George has been a great experience! George is a real gentleman and a wonderful host: considerate, easy-going and knowledgable both about the area and about many interesting things to do. We've had several enjoyable conversations about all sorts of things: culture, history, philosophy and even politics -- this is one very smart guy who is willing to politely share his wisdom with people of similar interests. The space is fixed up quite nicely and has a real feeling of privacy, and the location of the property is excellent: Right on the border of Emeryville, Berkeley and Oakland with public transportation to San Francisco only minutes away, plus easy access to Marin or areas to the east that have tons of open space and opportunities for hiking and camping. Thanks, George!
George was a great host! The futon on the floor is very comfortable, and it was just what I needed. Thanks George.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and George was the ultimate host. He made sure that I had the most pleasant experience possible, and I'm eternally grateful for his hospitality!
George went above and beyond to make sure I had everything for my stay. He was really helpful.
